Thistle Birmingham City - Μπίρμινγχαμ

I drove and found a little difficulty in finding the hotel in the dark, probably more a problem of my sense of direction. Excellent service from the desk on arrival. Perfectly adequate room with everything you might require, if a little small. Car park (NCP - rather expensive I thought). Location is good - close to the town centre and a short walk to the Bullring and all its late night facilities (although at 1.30 in the morning I did get a taxi back - cost £5 at that time!) I thought the rate charged was excellent and very good value for money. Breakfast was on 'special offer' and at £6.50 that, too, was good value (normally twice that).

Greatly impressed with the standard of hospitality maintained by this hotel. Staff were exceptionaly friendly and helpful, and that seems to me to define what makes a hotel special. The only downside was the view from my room - of the multi-story car park across the road! The front rooms overlook the cathedral - much easier on the eye! But I'd look forward to a return visit to the Thistle, and its welcoming staff... Thank you all....

Booked in for a night out at Club Air in Birmingham - checked in late Saturday (10pm?) turned the space heater on and headed out to the club. Tiptoed back in around 5:30am, cranked the room heater the rest of the way up and took a nice hot bath. Aside from the very loud green and red large check curtians, everything about the room was neat and clean, space heater worked well, plenty of hot water.

Carpet was full of stains, lots of dust under the bed and small dots of mould on the windows. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel was homely and comfortable. The bed could have been a bit bigger. It was a little old fasioned but the view from our room(406) was impressive. There was mould in the bathroom which we were not too impressed with. A fire Alarm sounded off in out bedroom at 23.20 and no real apology was given for this untimely alarm. It went off in our room for 45 seconds at 23.20pm

This hotel, for the price we paid, is one of the nicest we've stayed in. The room was spotless, staff excellent and knowledgeable, and on the doorstep of birmingham's bustling shopping area. We parked in the adjoining multi-storey, but beware even with the discount it cost over £34 for the three nights. You can tell by the exterior appearance the hotel has been around for a while, but the interior decor and ambiance make up for this. It really is lovely. HOWEVER, in the three nights we were there we could only get the shower hot ONCE and this was only for a couple of minutes. We were told it was because everyone showers at the same time of day and the hot water runs out. Fair comment, but this has never occured in any other UK hotel we've stayed in. Saying that, it was the only inconvenience but it would definately sway us towards a different hotel next time.

Check in was a ok, efficient would be a good word. The decor of the room was great, bed comfortable, everything you would need, though would have appreciated more than 5 tv stations before hitting pay per view, but hey was not there to watch tv so not an issue, City centre a bisk 10 min walk, so not a bad location. My room faced the main road, so a great view of the cathereral, but also of the traffic, which could have been worse. Car parking was a bit of a faff, the bridge from the hotel to the car park takes you to level 2, you then need to take a tiny and smelly lift to the 11th floor where you have to park your car, would have been so much more sensible to rethink this. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Room staff leave you alone if you hand the do not disturb sign on the door. Overall a pleasant stay.

the hotel was quiet, comfy and right in the centre of birmingham (was about £5 taxi to the bars at the mailbox) & close to tourist hot spots such as cadburys world (yum) and west midlands safari park, ncp car park next door (think as £8 for 24 hrs, wasn't up in time for breakfast but can't fault the hotel and would def stay again

This hotel is in a great location. Its only a short walk from the main shopping centre and the National Express coach way. The staff in the hotel were very polite and helpful, and gave us directions to get to the places we wanted to go. They were also able to recomment a taxi service for us to use too. Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed our stay here and will use this hotel again.

The rooms were very basic - not even a minibar - and looked like they'd had their day. The restaurant was excellent however, and the bar comfortable.

I was there for a week on a business trip -- nice hotel, reasonable prices, OK location (around 10-15 minutes walk from the Mailbox and the Town Hall) Quite a cute stay.

It was difficult to believe this hotel's 4* rating. On the positive side, the room was okay without being particularly spacious. The decor was dated, but the beds themselves were extremely comfortable. The hotel was not well situated for the city centre amenities. I would chose a more central hotel next time. Staff on check-in were brusque and, along with other potentially useful information, failed to offer upgrades to executive rooms/suites which we would have been happy to pay for. Particularly annoying was the habit of housekeeping staff of knocking on every room door each morning to wake guests unnecesarily. Breakfast was good, but dinner was overpriced: small portions and some of it very poor quality. Restaurant service, however, was excellent and the only aspect of the hotel which came up to expectations. The POS equipment of the hotel was outdated resulting in some convaluted mechanisms for charging consumption to our room - reception, the hotel bar and the hotel restaurant all operated separate systems. One curiosity was the cost of breakfast: £12 in the restaurant or £6 if paid for at reception. Overall, we thought the deal was good value on booking but, sadly, did not leave the hotel with the same view.

Hotellet levede klart op til den forventede standard. Rengøringen var i top og hotellets medarbejdere søde og hjælpsomme.

Super Lage, extrem zuvorkommendes Personal, alles perfekt mit einer kleinen Ausnahme: es war nicht sauber genug!

Safen på rummet var ben liten plåtlåda som stod löst i garderoben Lätt att ta med sig Hotellets dator dyr och vill Du skriva ut måste Du ha egen USB med Dig och gå till reseptionen för utskrift

Vi spurte i resepsjonen om prisen på frokost. Men den oppgitte prisen gjaldt bare med en spesialbillett fra respsjonen, som man samtidig IKKE opplyste om.. Vi spiste, satt regningen på rommet og måtte ut med dobbel pris - diskusjoner nyttesløse.. SVÆRT DÅRLIG, ELENDIG KUNDESERVICE, indirekte beskyldninger om løgn. Reiser ikke tilbake !!

bon hotel avec tout à disposition. Bonne localisation pour accéder au centre ville (pied ou taxi) et à l'aeroport. Chambre donnant sur la route principale légèrement bruyante.

Servicen var under alle kritk. Især i restauranten hvor maden var den meste elendig mad vi nogensinde har smagte. I baren kunne de ikke find ud af drinksene. Stuepigerne var faktisk de personer der gave fantastiske service!!

Bra med hotell som inte skinnar en på pengar, men samtidigt tillfredsställande standard. Man är ju som arnbetande besökande normalt bara en 4-6 timma på rummer per dygn.

Hôtel sympa et calme, accueil chaleureux et contexte digne d'un 4****. Petite théière en guise d'accueil dans la chambre à l'anglaise, il faut dire que je ne suis pas habitué aux hôtels mais ca donne un super effet... Sinon rien d'autre a redire si ce n'est que l'hôtel est un peu loin du centre de vie de la ville, la nuit pour manger il faut faire 500m pour trouver un autre resto que celui de l'hotel (assez cher...)
