room was huge!!! view was pretty straight. the staff was ultra helpful, and the pool was open extra late. i will return for sure.

Outstanding hotel. Great bargain for the quality.

I must say the rooms were very clean and I give the staff all A++ and warm cookies on arrival were great!

THIS IS A WONDERFUL HOTEL...FROM THE GOOD COOKIES AT CHECK-IN TO THE EXCELLENT SERVICE BY THE BELL TEAM. FOR ME THERE WAS JUST ONE SMALL PROBLEM. I AM REFERING TO THE A/C VENT. IT IS POINTED JUST ACROSS THE HEAD OF THE BED. I DON'T LIKE TO HAVE COOLED AIR BLOWING ACCROSS MY HEAD AS I SLEEP. OTHERWISE, EVENYTHING WAS PERFECT. THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL VISIT.

great hotel,the only thing I did not like was the fact that they tell you at the lobby that you can get tickets to universal cheaper at the hotel and it is not true. It is same price. so buy at universal because if you r a florida resident like we were we would have gotten a discount.

Only problem is they charge for parking.

The DoubleTree was one of the best I've experienced. It was very friendly to all guests regardless if they were locals, out of towners, gay or lesbian. Just a perfect hotel for anyone. The Best!

Clean & well maintained facility, friendly & helpful staff. Great location, prime location & great hotel for the money.

If you are going to the Universal parks and can't afford the Universal hotels this is your best bet. $5 dollar cab ride gets you to Universal, Islands of Adventure and/or City Walk. Wet n Wild is pretty close too.

This isn't the first time I have stayed here! I love this hotel. We drive up and park and since it's so close to the theme park, we just do the 10 min. walk to City Walk and the Parks saving on parking fees at the parks. The hotel itself is wonderful; the only complaint I have is that the food court is not open long enough. I would have liked to do breakfast there and they even sell breakfast food, but don't open until 11:30 am. I think they don't want to interfere with the Starbucks on site. Too bad; hours like 7 am to 12 am would be beneficial to all - if they are already Starbucks lovers, they will go there anyway.

I've stayed at other Doubletree properties and I've spent WAY more money to stay at those other locations. I chose this one because of its rate and proximity to I-Drive and Universal. The I-Drive trolley enabled me to forgo renting a car all but one day. So, the location and price were most important to me and surpassed my expectations. Does this property compare favorably with other Doubletree properties I've stayed at? Not entirely. The service, the room, the location, were all on par. The building is older and, though completely remodeled, felt like an older property in certain locations: The hot pool , hallways, and exterior/landscaping are good examples. I highly recommend this property.

I stay at hotels every week and this time sorry to say, I am not happy. Pool closed before 11pm as stated it did, security could not be found to unlock. Game room closed early as not stated. Room very hot at night, was not at temperature thermometer said. Not by far. Bathroom needed some cleaning and the towels looked dirty. Maid service was not the most plesant either. Pay to park $16.00 plus tax, who taxes valet parking????? And why pay the parking lot is right there with hotel same level and all, what a waste of money. This was a bad experience all the way around.

Hotel was very clean and very comfortable. The price and location were great and the personnel were friendly!

Most hotels in the area do not charge for parking and I was unware that there was a $12 charge per night for parking and it was not disclosed on the website when booking.

Hotel was amazing. Cleanliness, staff, location was amazing. The price was amazing as well. There was only one miscommunication. That was that the parking IS NOT INCLUDED. Parking is twelve dollars plus tax. Which is something to consider about this hotel. Overall this was a great hotel.

Walk to Universal, clean and spacious room, comfortable beds.

I was shocked at how great the hotel was based on the great price we got for our stay. It was conveniently located directly across the street from Universal and has shuttles to City Walk and the parks. The rooms were comfortable, fashionable and clean. I would recommend this hotel and already have!

Very near the entrance to Universal. Clean rooms. Spacious lobby and convenient parking (extra charge).

When we first arrived, we checked in and headed for the pool at 4:00pm. There were no towels left and too few chairs to sit on. The pool bar was extremely slow with serving drinks as well.

This hotel has the best bed that I have slept in and the pillows are to die for. The only complaint I have against this hotels is that they charge $12.00/day for parking in their parking lot. Not valet parking but self serve parking in a normal parking lot. I stayed 5 days so that added almost another night's charge to my bill.

THE DOUBLE TREE WAS A FAMILY ORIENTED PLEASURE.I WILL RETURN NO QUESTIONS ASKED!MY 10 & 6YR OLDS HAD A GREAT 3DAY STAY AND THE LOCALS WHERE VERY FRIENDLY WITH TRANSPORTATION & DINING SECRETS

The Hotel was nice and clean but a little noisy at times and they charge you 12 dollars a day to park your car.

If your on a budget but looking for something comfy and affordable this is a great hotel to visit. I stayed a week and the service was on point and i would recomend it to anybody. The price is def nothing compared to the service. BANG FOR THE BUCK.

The pool area had numerous broken chairs and the towels were extremely small and of poor quality. The pool bar was very nice though.

A-1 hotel,you won't need your car,walk to resturants,shuttle to Universal.

It was my first time staying at the Doubletree and I probably will stay there again. The hotel was pretty clean and there's an entire food court with a coffee shop downstairs. Talk about convenience... the only trouble I had was with the parking. No where on the reservation did they mention that parking was an additional cost. Parking per night at the hotel cost more than parking at Universal!

Very satisfied with the room and how near universal/islands were. Great price and would stay there again.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel before and we absolutely love it! It is very nice, elegant, and the staff is friendly. It is extremely convenient if you are going to Universal because the entrance is directly across the street. This is a big plus especially after a night at CityWalk, it was nice that we didn't have far to get back and rest to return to the park the next day! I will admit that the breakfast buffet is extremely expensive, but Golden Corral is 2 minutes away...you can even get to it through the hotel parking lot! Overall this hotel is great!!! We will stay there again and again!

When I found the listing on Hotels.com for this hotel I was excited, I have stayed at other DoubleTree Hotels in the past and was extremely pleased with my past stays this time however, not so. Upon checking in the clerk advised me that there is a overnight parking fee, its not enough that you are staying in their hotel and paying for the room, now to even park you car you have to pay or run the risk of parking illegaly and being towed. No other options are availible. When we booked the room we decided to reserve the king room with a couch for our son, when I checked in the room that they had for me was a king bed with no couch. When I asked about the roll away bed the clerk said it would be another $20.00 on top of the parking fee and the rate that I had already paid. The beds even though they were advertised as comfortable were not so. Lumpy and hard are two words that come to mind. The other DoubleTree Hotels that I have stayed at had extremly comfortable beds. Also advertised is in room complementry coffee while it was really good coffee they provided only 2 half and half creamers and one package with sugar and equal in it. Not nearly enough for 2 cups of coffee. My husband then went in search of other coffee in the hotel the only other place to get coffee was the Starbucks located on the ground floor of the hotel, this would have been wonderful if it had not been for the amusement park prices for a small cup of black coffee. Most hotels that I have stay in have complementry coffee in the hotel lobby, this one thinks that since they have the great name that you should have to pay extra to set foot on their property. Also advertised was wireless internet acess. This is available, but only the lobby of the hotel. Just wondering at what point does it become unrealistic for this hotel to get away with this kind of fluff charging?

The hotel physically was great and very comfortable. I was charged for parking ($12 per day) and was charged for internet use in the lobby ($0.59 per minute)If you can accept all the additional charges it is a good hotel . Otherwise STAY AWAY.

This was the perfect location as we were visiting Universal. Price was good for five of us sharing a room with two queen beds. The room was ready when we arrived at about 9am. Nice pool for the kids. Could do with a coffee shop the the dining available worked out OK.

My husband and I live in florida but enjoy spending time in Orlando. We have stayed at this hotel before and was happy with cleanliness and comfort. Plus you get a great warm cookie at check-in.LOL We will definitely stay here again and again, simply because of great location.

Ok, its the Doubletree. Very nice hotel typically. But we had a few bumps. The hotel was newly renovated but our door was not flush against the facing so you could see out into the hallway. The TV I had to turn off and turn back on to find the channels I could watch. NO TV GUIDE showing a scrolling list!!! Once I turned the tv off and then on I guess it reset and you could see a listing of the channels but not whats actually coming on!! A few noisy guests overnight, no big deal. But the clincher, about 11:00 am I'm in the shower, my wife is ironing and about the time I exit she's looking at me asking if I hear that. A faint emergency alarm asking us to evacuate. We are on the 16th Floor!!! We exit via the stairwell only to get to the bottom and there is no hotel representation asking if we're ok, step over here, have a cookie and some juice, sorry for the inconvenience....NOTHING! It was at least 30 minutes before we discovered someone pulled the alarm. Now, again you can't control all of your guests but you can control how you the Doubletree handles emergencies. Overall, if I stay there again I know what to expect and not to expect and I definitely will not be on the 16th floor.
