New Hotel Du Midi - Μονπελιέ

The hotel is spacious, centrally located, staff helpful. Breakfast - good coffee and fresh pastries. Eating out okay 13.50 euros for a main course. Good shopping. The only problem was the narrow bed. My feet hung off the end of the bed, I am 5ft 6ins tall. Hard to sleep the first night, a bit like being on a raft. This was a twin bedded room so a double bed may have been more generoous.

Only a stone's throw from the station and easy to find. Funky decor and lovely sheets and furnishings. Only got CNN as the English channel on the telly though! Wifi costs €13.50 for 24 hours or €8 an hour if you want it but you can use their printer. We went with our two teenage boys and it was a success.

I overnighted in Montpellier en route from Barcelona to Nice. This hotel was the best of my European trip. It is walking distance to the train station, walking distance to the main square of the town, and the rooms were comfortable with nice bathrooms. The hotel has a modern flair to it. My only complaint is no free wifi--but that is rare in Europe. You can't go wrong at this hotel.

We went to Montpellier to visit my duaghter, who is doing a Junior year abroad. Decided on New Hotel du Midi based on location, price and reviews. It exceeded our expectations. Location can't be beat - close enough to Place de la Comedie to be convenient, far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. Room was spotless, bed was very comfortable, appointments were of high quality and the shower was great. Hotel staff was helpful yet not overbearing, and the common areas were interestingly decorated. Have already booked our next visit in March.

Given that the Place Comedie is THE place to stay to be central in Montpellier, the Hotel du Midi has to be THE hotel to stay in on the square. It has much more character than the Ibis and is every bit as conveniently located. Breakfast was a little expensive but plentiful and was served until midday - so a late brunch could see you through to dinner.

What a great location for exploring Montpellier. Close to the Tram stop in the Central square and easy walking to the central attractions. The hotel and rooms were clean and tidy and we had a change of towels both days we stayed. Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning and were able to leave the bags at reception until check in time. I would recommend hotel this for long weekend stay.

This hotel is in a superb location just at the side of the Theatre and Main Square. It used to be called the Grand Hotel and the outside facade is still Grand. It also still has some beautiful Art Deco stained glass windows. The rooms were on the small side but perfectly adequate and very clean and smart. Staff were polite and helpful and not intrusive. Would defintely stay there again. Also Montpellier is an excellent location for a few days stay, with walled town, pedestrianised narrow streets, interesting new quarter (Poligone and Antigone) and nearness to coast (and rail links) and La Camargue. We did our bit for the environment and travelled there by train from London which was very comfortable and reasonably priced. Already looking forward to going there again.

Great location, probably the best location hotel we could find. Rooms are small but we only stayed one night so it was fine for that. Very nice hotel would recomend.

This is our 4th time that we have stayed at this hotel. It is not a large hotel but it was gem of a find it is great location right in the centre and parking is easy as there is an underground carpark and the tram station is right next to it. I would recommed it to anyone

This hotel is in an old building but the moment you walk in you will see that it's all new. The gentleman at the concierge/reception desk was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to check into a hotel in Europe and be treated like an old friend. The town of Montpellier itself is a nice little hidden treasure. It's not big in a lot tourist books but should be. The room was clean and modern. The bathroom was very large and by French standards was huge. Very happy with my stay. Thanks.

Hotel de bonne qualité, très bien situé. Un petit bémol, le mini-bar est à peine frais.

Le prix du petit déjeuner (12 euros) est excessif par rapport au choix proposé : uniquement yaourt nature, deux choix de céréales seulement, pommes un peu "tapées"...

Trois nuits passées dans cet hôtel pour la pentecôte. hotel vraiment très bien situé juste à côté de la place de la comédie, personnel très accueillant, chambre propre et confortable. J'y retournerai

mauvaise prestation ,plus proche d'une étoile que de trois. Insalubre + pas de décor + chambre exigüe + peinture et tenture déprimantes. clim en panne +télé des années 70.....en + pièce poussiéreuse

midt i byen og kort vei til alt. hjelpsomme ansatte som snakket godt engelsk. Ganske myel støy fra sopebilene utenfor, som holdt på stort sett hele døgnet, kan muligens skape frustrasjon hos folk med dårlig sovehjerte.

Seul bémol : le petit déjeuner. Pas à la hauteur de l'hotel mal présenté, salle triste, trop cher

Nous avons séjourné une nuit à l'hotel New Hotel Of Midi. Nous avons été très bien reçus, la chambre était jolie, le lit très confortable, et la salle de bain magnifique. Le service très agréable, le personnel souriant. L'hotel est situé sur la place de la Comédie, ce qui est parfait. A recommander !

L'hôtel de Montpellier est placé quasiment sur la place de la Comédie ce qui est parfait pour découvrir le centre ville. La chambre est un peu petite et la salle de bain est équipé d'un douche et pas d'une baignoire.

Accueil chaleureux. Bon confort mais j'ai regretté l'absence de mouchoirs dans le distributeur de la salle de bains et une réelle différence de température entre celle affichée (23) et une relative fraîcheur. Toutefois, bonne impression d'ensemble.

Mitten im Zentrum von Montpellier - tolle Lage. aber: laut. - Das haus wird renoviert: innen dunkel gestrichen - merkwürdig. Auch unser Zimmer war von selten muffiger Farbgebung. Sehr groß (eine Juniorsuite) - aber dunkelbrauner Teppichboden ist nicht das, was man sich für den Süden vorstellt. Nachts war es im Zimmer heiß, sehr heiß (Anfang Oktober!), die Balkontüren zu öffnen half nur wenig, da kaum Wind ging, dafür aber auf der Straße viel und lange Lärm war. Klimaanlage: Laut und kalt. - Das Personal im New Hotel ist sehr nett, hilfsbereit, ganz prima. Das Frühstück: viel Geld für wenig Angebot. Sehr teuer: Internet-Benutzung im Haus. Gut: Zentrale Lage - aber da gibt es auch andere Häuser, billiger und ebenso bequem.

Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und damit perfekt für Stadterkundungen. Ich kann das Hotel nur empfehlen, fand nur das Frühstück zu teuer ! Als sehr angenehm habe ich die Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit des Hotelpersonals empfunden.

This hotel, while perfecly placed is badly managed. Public rooms were dirty with beer bottles and cigarette ends around. The toilet in the lobby was filthy. When approached the manager was rude and abusive. Having said that, the room was spacious and comfortable but decorated in the most dreadful collection of dark browns and black with lots of plastic imitation leather.

We spent 4 nights after a 5 month sojourn, working in Paris. It was a good choice for us. Quiet, plenty of storage for our bulky luggage, good location near Bastille, Republique, Oberkampf. The desk staff was very friendly, useful, respected our desire to speak French and our need, at times, to switch to English. Recommended.

L'hotel est idéalement situé mais les chambres sont vieillottes et sans charme. On est au calme et le service est sympa. L'hotel aurait besoin d'un sérieux relooking toutefois.

Bel hotel, très bel agencement dans un immeuble de caractère et personnel discret et serviable, c'est un vrai oasis de détente en plein coeur du centre de Montpellier.

Un très bon choix pour un séjour dans la ville. Très bien situé. Chambre confortable et aiu calme.Commodités : parking de la comédie. Penser à demander la facture pour minorer le prix du parking. Facture à présenter à l'accueil du parking.

Aucun reproche, l'hôtel est très calme (un weekend d'automne en tout cas) et on profite facilement du centre ville qui est à deux pas. Une bonne partie des chambres donnent sur la terrasse de la brasserie, qui doit sans doute être bruyante l'été (à vérifier au moment de la réservation). Fortement recommandé, très bonne adresse, et bon tarif grâce à Hotels.com

L'hotel est bien situé et assez joliement rénové. Certaines salles de bains ne sont malheureusement pas rénovées dans certaines chambres, mais reste propre tout de même. Les seul point négatif: le petit déjeuner: tout juste comparable à celui d'un 2 étoiles et cher !
