Buenos Aires Wilton Hotel - Μπουένος Άιρες

Location and value is all it has...but is not a 5 or 4 star hotel. At least the room that we had was quiet but looking old.

I feel like this place was overpriced for the quality of the room. It was nice and clean enough. But, they really sank all there efforts into making the lobby look nice. The staff was extremely helpful. We were flying to Patagonia for a few days before coming back to stay here. They allowed us to safely keep some of our bags there prior to arriving for our stay. Then after staying with them we flew up to Iguazu for a couple days. They allowed us to keep our bags there again. Although this was my least favorite accommodation we had during our stay in Argentina, the staff was great (most speak english) and the luggage storage was extremely helpful. I would recommend renting an apartment or bed and breakfast for your stay in B.A. if you are staying for a good amount of time.

The hotel was a good bargain, the location is walking distance (if you are semi-fit) to all attractions and there are many fantastic local restaurants near by. The front desk is very helpful and there is always an English speaker working.

The Wilton is located on a busy street in a nice/safe neighborhood. The hotel rooms are small but comfortable. The furniture is a little dated. Our bathroom was spacious and remodeled, which was nice. The buffet breakfast offered many cold and few hot items such as juices, coffee, tea, toast, fruit salad, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, medialuna (Argentine-croissants). The front desk can be friendly with giving advice. Be warned if you look like a tourist (like us), they may give you the hard-sell on tango shows and city tours. These were practically booked for us without our consent after we arrive from a red-eye flight and not completely in the mood to make decisions about which sights we wanted to see. Overall, a good experience.

The staff at this hotel was very friendly. The hotel is located in an active part of town so it was noisy at night.

I reviewed other places and chose Wilton because of the reviews. I also had an opportunity to stay at another pricier place during my Buenos Aires stay, and the Wilton beat it. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. There was always someone on staff who spoke English, if we needed it. The rooms weren't fancy, but very clean and comfortable, though I think if you stay in a room to the back off the street it's much quieter. The shower was very nice and the bathroom had room to move around. The surrounding neighborhood was perfect with nearby restaurants, money exchange, pharmacy, etc. It was very easy to get around from here to see the sights. I highly recommend the Wilton and it's very helpful staff!

We only stayed one night at this hotel in a two and a half week trip. It was a short stay over for us just to catch a flight. Hotel is in a good neighborhood in Recoleta so there are a lot of places to eat nearby and we felt safe walking around at night. The desk staff was quite friendly and helpful. They even brought us all glasses of orange juice before we left at 6am for the airport as the breakfast was not yet open. Very sweet of them! Rooms themselves were older. We slept with the windows open to keep the room cool but then had to deal with street noise. That was the biggest negative for us. Otherwise, hotel was good for the price and need.

The hotel was located in a perfect area for sightseeing. It was near the subway and bus route. The continental breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay and our trip.

The front desk staff was great. Always available to help and spoke English, especially Sylvia. They really made you feel comfortable and welcome. Sylvia recommended many Tango shows and the high speed ferry to Colonia, Uraguay. Also, the price included a nice, but simple continental breakfast each morning.

Very conveniet to a lot of attractions. Good walking neighborhood. We got the penthouse suite, don't know how that happened. Very nice room, great bargain for the money.

We stayed 4 nights here (2 adults, no kids). We booked through hotels.com and got room on 10th floor facing the street with good view. The noice was a bit high because of street facing but this is as expected in a country where mix of buses, motocycles roaming the streets. Location is great - closed by many eateries and sight seeing, but not too close to busy tourist areas. Room is small but clean and good for this price range. Staff is friendly and do speak English. Breakfast is good compared to other places we stayed. I would recommend it if you are looking for 3-4 stars hotels.

Bell hop was very helpful and spoke English which made conversation easier for me. He told us about the availability of a room for refreshing ourselves since we checked out much earlier than when our plane was to depart. The staff also suggested a tour which we took within an hour of arrival. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful.

Its a comfortable location. There are nice little places to eat near by and there is a chill, little, dark bar next door. Really good breakfast!!!

I broke my ankle on the way from the airport to this hotel. They did not have a wheel chair - however, they did wholeheartedly try to help me into the hotel, even brining out the secretarial chair to wheel me in. My husband and I were more than satisfied with this hotel and would definitely stay there again. The little dining room and included breakfast were well laid out and with varied menu items. The staff really worked to make me comfortable while I waited in the lobby and made phone calls on our behalf. We were well looked after. They even brought all our luggage up into our room while I was at the trauma clinic getting medical attention.

Great location, Blah hotel...looks like a touched up Hostel. Rooms are like dorm rooms. For the price its not bad considering the location .

We enjoyed our stay at the Wilton. It is centrally located and we walked many places or had a short cab ride to others. The room was very clean; it may have been the cleanest bathroom I've seen in a hotel of any price. The front desk was helpful with planning some nights out and internet was free. The elevators are extremely small but we didn't spend much time in them!! We were very satisfied.

Good location within easy walking distance of the Recolleta and the subway. Safe neighborgood with great restaurants near by. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable

the location is extraordinary. Close to Santa Fe and on one of the main avenues. The problem is the quality of the rooms. The beds are not comfortable, the AC is noisy, you can hear everything happening in the hallway, the towels are thin and hard. In summary I don't think it's so cheap to justify all that lack of qulity.

Since finding each other in Paris in 1977, my wife and I and have always looked for a balance of low price and good location in our hotel selection. The Wilton Palace Hotel was our best choice so far! There is a very professional staff. Generally there was one person with English language mastery at the desk. The breakfast was very nice each morning. The room was very clean, with comfortable furnishings. The bath tub had been replaced-- the controls for a hydro tub were still on the wall for a fixture from the past. There was a missing piece of moulding along the wall. The stick for opening and closing the curtain fell off in our hand upon first use. But if something like this bothers you in a hotel, stay home and watch the travel channel. Not really in Recoleta-- I don't know if "Retiro" is a search option in hotels.com, but you don't pay Recoleta prices, either. We found some elegant neighborhood restaurants just off the main streets where we were treated like family. We walked most every street 15 blocks in any direction from the hotel-- during all times of the day up until midnight and always felt safe.

This hotel is in a great location and you get great value for your money. I was very happy with this choice. It's a short walk to Recoleta Cemetary and a longer but managable walk to the Obelisk and downtown.

We found this hotel to be in a great location in the Barrio Norte, right next to Recoleta. They allowed us to check in early; after reading earlier reviews, we were expecting a small room but were pleasantly surprised to find this was not the case. The breakfast included with our room was very good. A wide variety of pastries, breads, fruit, cerealt, yogurts, meats and cheeses were provided. The staff was very friendly. In B.A., large bills are difficult to use, even though these are the denominations that are provided by ATMs. The hotel was very accomodating in providing change, which was extremely helpful. They were available to assist in booking day trips, such as an exciting trip to an Argentinian football match. We had a late night flight departure and the staff was very accomodating in holding our bags after checkout so we could enjoy some more sightseeing. The maid responsible for our room was very friendly and efficient. Our room was always cleaned in a timely manner. We will definitely return to the Wilton on our next trip to Buenos Aires.

Great hotel - my room was spacious, with a huge bed. The staff were all as friendly and helpful as you could hope for. And the location's great - it's right next to Avda Santa Fe, with plenty of entertainment and restaurants, and only six blocks from Avda Corrientes. Plus it's within walking distance of the cemetery in Recoleta, which is a must-see.

The location is perfect, and for the price we paid for that neighborhood, it was good. But don't expect too many amenities. Wifi only worked in lobby. No minibar. Continental breakfast was good. Rooms were kind of small, but that only bothered my husband. He said he wouldn't stay there again. I, however, think that the location trumps the limits of the hotel. If you want a place to sleep with a fantastic location, this is the hotel for you.

The staff was nice, but the internet was out for our entire 3 night stay, not because it wasn't working or available but evidentally because the hotel management was having an issue with the provider (we got the impression that they didn't pay the bill or something like that because they told us it would be fid in 48 hours - kind of strange since the connection was working great with the provider Telefonica, but just when you tried to use the hotel's "free" access passwords they didnt allow you to get an IP address) Still not a 1st world country, and the service level you would be accustomed to, as in fixing that particular problem, was not handled the way a quality US or European hotel manager would have handled it.

Very reasonably priced, in a great location with lots of restuarants, bookstores and shops. Free internet use. Some English speaking staff, all were very helpful. Basic, but clean and comfortable rooms. A good adequate breakfast is included.

The hotel is in a very convenient and safe location, with a variety of services in the nearby area (banks, restaurants, stores, subway, etc). This is the greatest quality of Wilton Hotel. However, if your intention is to relax in the hotel facilities, don't go to Wilton. The rooms are small, old fashioned, there is no cable tv, no restaurant nor pool (although a small gym). Hotel furniture is very poor, small tv, and a few items with eventual problems (blackout window not opening). If you want to do some shopping in Buenos Aires, this is the right hotel for you. If you just want to rest, go for Panamericano or Sofitel.

Room was clean and the continental breakfast was more than adequate. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

I'm glad I chose this hotel for our 7 nite stay in Buenos Aires. An easy, safe walk to Recoleta where there are a lot of shops and restaurants and next to Avenida Sante Fe for plenty of shopping. We never paid more the US $5-6 for a taxi ride as the hotel is centrally located. The subway is just 2 blocks away. For the money, it was great for us..not the fanciest place although the lobby is very nice and the breakfast(free) area is spacious. The room was a bit small...nothing fancy and I do wish it had a dresser for more storage, but the bathroom was nicely done and clean. The staff was the greatest, very helpful, and they all spoke English very well. Thanks to Sylvia on day shift and to Alfredo and Diego for their long late nite conversations and help they provided.

The service was great. The rooms were not as nice as i had expected, shabby carpet...but the bathrooms were nice and hte housekeepers did a good job.

Staff very helpful, we booked a city tour and tango show through the Hotel at the same price as any where else. The city tour is very inexpensive and well worth it. Internet is slow and busy alot but went down the street for just 1 or 2 peso's. Make sure your dollars are clean and not torn or the change places will not take them. Banco la nacion at the Airport has the best exchange rate anywhere. The room is 3 star the hotel staff is 5 star. The complimentary breakfast is very good.

A friend and I just stayed at the Wilton. We were very impressed with our hotel stay. The lobby and common areas were very nice. It was great to have internet access in the lobby. The free breakfast in the morning was convenient. And the gym and solarium were very nice. The hotel staff was very accommodating: changing our money for us, booking us a tango show reservation, calling for cars to the airport and answering all our questions. Our room was nice. It was clean and cleaned daily. It was fairly basic, don't go expecting a luxury hotel. Having a safe in the room was a nice feature. The hair dryer in the bathroom didn't work very well, so I would bring your own. Being in the Recoleta district was very convenient.

This hotel was in a very convenient location. They were very helpful with arranging tours for us and had our room ready when we arrived at 10:00 a.m. The room was a bit shabby and I would say that it was not quite up to the 3 1/2 star rating but very clean.

We stayed at the Wilton Hotel the week of March 3, 2008. It is in a great location as it is 3 blocks from the underground train, and it is near the intersection of 2 major streets, which made it easy to reference on maps and with taxis. The hotel rooms were comfrotable and a great deal for what we paid. It had a huge bathroom too. Breakfast was in a nice room, and I would describe it as deluxe contental. The hotel is on a busy street so there was a lot of traffic noise when the window was open, but at night, even a light sleeper like me could sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful as to where to go in the city, they gave us a late check-out for our evening flight, and even arranged a room for us to change in prior to leaving for the airport. Overall we enjoyed the Wilton Hotel and would recommend it to others.

The walls are as thin as paper, you can hear everything going on in the hallway or in other rooms, including phones ringing. The service is super slow and unattentive.

Small hotel with reasonable prices. Rooms are small and mattresses could be softer, but bathrooms are brand new luxurious and large. Very nice sitting area in the lobby with refreshments available most of the time (great cafe con crema!) I will stay again

Fully exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. Hotel staff were among the most helpful I've seen!
