Palace Hotel - Βιαρέτζο

The Palace Hotel is nice but even though it is said to be a 4 star hotel it is NOT. The staff are really nice and very helpful and speak great English, the daily breakfast was VERY good and had lots of selection. The rooms were nice but the baths were VERY small. This hotel is really nice but it is expensive, we did not eat in the restaurant because there were many good local restaurants.

My wife and I stayed in the Palace last week and we really enjoyed it there. It was a last minute booking as we only ecided to finish our tuscany holiday in Viarreggio at the last minute. The hotel is quite a 1920's themed/styled hotel but is certainly very comfortable and tastfully done, rooms have very high ceilings (approx 15 feet), with an entrance hall, and bathroom with each room so plenty of space. We booked just a standard double room. Beds are extremely comfortable and for a 7euro surcharge we got breakfast delivered to the room on a trolley which included juices, pastries, cold meat/cheese assortment, tea/coffee. There is a lovely rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the sea and saves you the 15euros of paying for a sunbed across the road on the private beaches. also the friendly waitress supplied us with refreshments on the terrace all day aswell and the drinks were reasonably priced. The location of the hotel was excellent - right in the middle of the long coastal road in viareggio and right opposite alot of the better restaurants along the strip. Be sure to park your car around the side of the hotel on the left hand side of the road (its free on that side) or if you cannot get parking here drive along the road behind the hotel - it is free on-street parking under the tree-lined road there also. Otherwise you can get a 24-ticket for 7euros from the hotel.

The hotel was very clean and was just like in the photographs.Hotel staff were very friendly and helpfuland the roof terrace was a must for a drink at the end of a long day sightseeing, just to chill and watch the sun go down. Fantastic views over the sea at the front and the alps at the back of the hotel. Didn't here any noise from the busy road at front of hotel and had four fab nights sleep in really comfy bed.

The Palace has high ceilings, generous proportions and an old world charm. The old fashioned windows didleak a bit, and the bathrooms were an afterthought, but I did not care too much. I found the charm outweighed the negatives.

Flott og sentral beliggenhet, men nokså slitt og dyrt i forhold til hva du får.

Hotelkamer is volledig ingericht, maar wel gedateerd. De bedden beschikken over een goede matras en de badkamer en kamer worden elke dag goed schoongemaakt. Bij defecte televisie snel een vervangend toestel. Ontbijt ruim gesorteerd en van goede kwaliteit. Hotelbar mag wel wat beter worden geprofileerd, is leuk maar ook hier behoeft wat meer aankleding. Bij vertrek kregen we een gepeperde rekening van de strandstoelen gepresenteerd, is handig als dit beter wordt aangegeven wanneer je hier gebruik van maakt en eventuele alternatieven (ander strand) te presenteren.

Dette hotel er pænt og rent med en god beliggenhed i byen. Største aktiv er så sikkert den store terrasse med en flot udsigt over strand og hav. Hotellet virker dog gammelt og slidt, morgenmaden er kedelig og ensformig, værelserne er små og lever ikke op til standarden for de fire stjerner.
