Villa Diodoro Hotel - Ταορμίνα

The 1/4 mile walk to the main promenade in Taormina was a bit of a struggle for a 62 year old ( I quit smoking 1 year prior ) My wife ( 60 years old ) had no problem , The walk itself is beautiful,especially when you walk to town thru the unbelievable community gardens which start at the Diodoro !!

This is an old world charming hotel - this was my second stay and the staff was as friendly and helpful as the first time - well located a few minutes walk from the funicular and the central part of town. Great pool, terrace and restaurant!

A good hotel, 4 mins walk to the town center, next to the lovely botanical gardens. The dining or even an evening drink around the pool as advertised might not be possible- as they block book / close it for wedding functions.

The Villa Diodoro is an excellent hotel. The hotel is beautiful, the gardens are lovely and beautifully maintained, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. We had a magnificent view of the sea and of Mount Etna from our balcony. The restaurant served delicious food, and they offered everything you can imagine for breakfast! We can speak of this hotel only in superlatives.

Really elegant hotel at the edge of Taormina. Old-fashioned in the positive meaning of the word. Close to downtown Taormina and the Greek Theater. Going by car was quite tricky but doable. Parking at the hotel worked fine.

I decided to stay at villa diodoro for part of our honeymoon and as a result we were willing to spend more than we would usually for a hotel. We stayed 4 nights in total, 2 nights and away for one then our last 2 nights back at this hotel. When we checked in the staff were very efficient and friendly, when we got to our room, we were so disappointed, dark, gloomy, no balcony, 2 seperate twin beds. I went back up to the front desk and explained that this was the beginning of our honeymoon and they did change our room to one with a balcony (and 2 single beds, which they later put together). So this was a little better. The next 2 nights we stayed, we checked in again and got the same gloomy dark depressing room again 2 single beds and unfortunalely the staff were not as comprimising or in anyway nice, told us there was nothing they could do, so just basically tough luck, very unhelpful, very unfriendly, unlike the staff of the previous few days. The pool area is lovely and breakfast is great and served in a large beautiful room overlooking the sea. This is not the hotel you want to stay in for your honeymoon or romantic getaway, overall the staff don't appear to like tourists, so would not have any urge to go back to sicily, very different to other parts of italy.

Lives up to the expectation of a 4 star hotel. Good location in Taormina, if location is imprtant to you.

Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhet. Rommene er enkle og greie. Prøv å få et rom i høyden, en fantastisk utsikt mot Etna og Naxos stranden. Utsikten fra poolen er storslått.

Bel hôtel, bien situé en centre-ville mais calme, très belle piscine (dommage qu'elle ferme à 18h00 en plein été), belle chambre : le tout très romantique. Nous aurions aimé prendre le peti-dej. à l'extérieur sur cette magnifique terrasse : malheureusement, c'était impossible. Certains membres du personnel un peu coincés. Mais nous avons adoré cette halte à Taormine très Dolce Vita.

großes, gemütliches Zimmer. Frühstücksraum mit Blick vom Tisch auf den Ätna ist nicht zu übertreffen. Im März war es natürlich noch zu kalt für den Pool, der aber sonst hervorragend aussieht. Für den Preis sehr gutes Hotel.
