Hotel de Rome et de Sainte Pierre - Μασσαλία

Good locaiton but the hotel was poorly maintained and everything from the TV to the air conditioner (which did not work) was very old. And no internet connection in the room, which to me is unacceptable these days.

Very good location. Booked for the purpose of sleeping only for one night. Arrived 11.30pm, checked in in less than one minute, had shower, went to bed, woke up and left. Room was street facing but quiet. Not a peep from other guests. Bed was comfy. Hotel was ten minute walk from main train station.

I was looking for a local French hotel as I wanted to avoid a globalized environment and in this hotel I found these characteristics. Traditional hotel with old furniture. Exactly what I wanted and just 5 minutes walk from the port!

Room was not ready when we arrived - maintenance person was putting new tiles in bathroom. No kleenex in bathroom. No remote control for AC unit - had to ask for it from counterperson downstairs. Could not use phone because counterperson had not programmed it for use and when I notified him of the problem he replied "Of course it does not work because you did not notify me that you needed to use the phone". I wonder what would have happened had I needed the phone for an emergency. The toilet in the bathroom worked once and then the handle fell off when I tried to use it a second time. The counterperson and the maintenance person were unable to fix the toilet so we did not have a toilet for the night. In addition, the rooms do not have adequate insulation to even muffle the street noise that continued past midnight on a weekday night in spite of the fact that we had the shutters and windows closed, the drapes drawn, and used earplugs. Finally, the drapes are not privacy drapes which allowed light from the neon business lights kept the room lite-up through the night making it difficult to go to sleep.

tres dangeureux ici, il y pas des place pr le voitrue, la seule chose bien et a pied 1km a la vieux port.

charmant petit hotel en plein centre de marseille et à deux pas de la canebiére, du vieux port et du métro, les chambres sont climatisées, ce qui n'est pas négligeable quand il fait trés chaud! le personnel y est trés agréable! cependant, la cabine de douche n'était pas dans un état optimale. à part ça, je le recommande sans probléme.

Une odeur très désagréable d'égouts flottait dans la chambre !!

L'hôtel est très bien situé, en centre ville mais au calme quand même (dans une ruelle juste derrière la canebière) et surtout accessible à toute heure du jour et de la nuit. Cependant, à l'accueil on nous dit que la chambre est avec baignoire, elle est avec douche, les toilettes fuient légèrement et la télévision est une antiquité de 36 cm de diamètre... Léger pour un 3*...

Accueil sympa quelle que soit l'heure, hotel calme et très bien situé (à deux pas du vieux port) mais ... - Chambre très sombre donnant sur une cour intérieure assez glauque et sale (des détritus de tout genre s'y amassent). - Déco surannée (à rafrainchir d'urgence) - Literie très inconfortable .

This hotel is ok. It is very basic and I would stay here agian...but no more than two nights......the area it is inn is also ok. If you look for a romantic weekend DON'T go here. For a short or business stay it's the right hotel to stay at.

Le hall d'entrée est vétuste. La chambre est spacieuse, propre et bien insonorisée (J'avais payé un supplément pour un meilleur confort). Qualité passable pour un trois étoiles.

Charming, with old heavy furnitures and windows! Close to everything in the centre of Marseille! We slept like kings!

Although the hotel is well-situated, and the people friendly and helpful, the room left much to be desired. My room overlooked a garbage dump on the roof of an adjoining building. I had severe dust-allergies all the time I was there, and a number of bites on my body- don't know from where! also the hotel is not environmentally-friendly.
