SORAT Hotel Ambassador - Βερολίνο

The hotel is situated close to Wittenberg Platz, the street outside isn't busy and the room we were in was quiet. We had the window open during our stay (mid August) as it was very warm. The underground is a 5 min walk surrounded by various restaurants and shops located on Wittenberg Platz. The staff at reception spoke English and were pleasant. The breakfast is buffet style all you can eat and 13 euros each. There are cheaper alternatives nearby.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this hotel and we could not fault it. The breakfast was amazing, everything you could wish for, you were spoilt for choice. We would certainly recommend it. the location was great for all the attractions.

The hotel was in a great location in terms of easy access to a nearby u-bahn stop that could get you everywhere in the city. The hotel, itself, was very nice. Fanastic breakfast.

good hotel in a fantastic location, near Zoo Station, the U Bahn, and the 100 Bus which travels from Tegel airport. Recommended, but don't expect glamour, the rooms are fairly basic, but the staff are excellent.

I was there in July and it was quite hot, but the hotel had no central AC either in the lobby or, worse than that, in the rooms!!!! Some window units were available but as they were at least 30 years old, they were not functioning... The only good thing is that the staff was extremely nice.

This hotel was in a great location. The free beakfast in the morning was huge and excellent. The service was great. The rooms are just a little outdated but very cllean and nice.

Breakfast buffet is great, rooms are small, but it is Europe and that is to be expected.

The hotel staff is very accomodating. Breakfast is absolutely outstanding. It´s also right outside Wittenberg Platz, which is a great U-bahn station to be near. KaDeWe is also nearby, along with lots of nice restaurants, snack stands, and bars. Great value for the price!

The lobby area and dining were quite nice as they have spent a bit of money doing it up but they forgot about the rooms which are a bit outdated. The shower was always going hot and cold which was a pain. I complained about the shower and it went straight over there head. The breakfast was fantastic. Overall it was good value and great if you want to be near the zoo.

Hotel very central. Staff very attentive and great breakfast. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Close to U-Bahn Wittenburg Strasse which was great for visiting Berlin's many attractions

SORAT Hotel Ambassador is exactly what it claims to be--a solid 3 Star Hotel. Not a high-end luxury hotel or a posh business one, but a comfortable, clean hotel in a great location at a unbeatable price. No mini bar or fridge, no room safe and real keys on ridiculously large plastic key chains are slight inconveniences, but the staff makes up for them. Rarely have I encountered more helpful front desk personnel. And the included breakfast would be remarkable for hotels twice the cost. Very strong free WiFi connection as well. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

Service level was of a good standard and the location is excellent for any purpose. The hotel is getting on these days and the rooms, though clean and functional, are showing their age. Overall, a good choice for those on a budget.

Stayed at this hotel in a party of 6 people between 3 rooms. Check in was painless, even though we had to change one room, due to being allocated a double when we needed a twin. Overall my impression of the staff is that they are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and varied. The hotel itself is in okay decorative order; some parts of the hotel do smell of stale smoke. The Hotel is in a very good location. All in all would recommend this hotel.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff in general are extremely polite and helpful and always cheerful. The room was perfectly adequate for my needs. It was spacious and comfortable and very clean. It overlooked the main street but was very quiet. A lovely bathroom with power shower. Breakfast could not have been better - excellent quality and great variety. This hotel is perfectly situated for travelling and exploring. I would recommend it highly.

This hotel was recommended to us as being very central to all amenities in Berlin, which it was, just off the Kurfurdestrasse (I may not have spelt that right, but it's the main street which houses the church with the top blown off) and only a few minutes walk to the Zoo. It was a nice, clean, efficient hotel, the buffet breakfast was excellent in it's quality and variety, the timeframe was 6.30 to 11.00 a.m. which was brilliant if you were having a late night, we didn't as it was just my teenage daughter and myself, but I have to say we got great value for money and polite, helpful staff, exactly what we'd been looking for, and I intend to recommend it for location also.

The bed and pillows were really yuk but an excellent location for a quick visit

Excellent Hotel with very helpful multi lingual staff,it is in an excellent location.Buffet style breakfast was superb and very filling.The room was always spotless and well maintained.Only minor blackmark was a creeky bed. I was able to check in early and they stored my luggage after checkout. When in Berlin this is the place to stay.

The hotel was in a good location, down a side road, within walking distace of all the main sights etc, the hotel was nice, friendly greeting and quick check in! They even let me check in early. The room was nice, no temperature controls in the room and the bathroom was clean but not very nice, seemed like they havent changed it since the 70's!! The included breakfast was amazing, they had everything you could want and more, not sure it was worth the price tho. overall it was nice and i'm glad i chose the hotel but wouldnt stay there again.

Great location ,very central , room was lovely and warm , breakfasts were excellent , could not fault the hotel on any level ,would happily stay there again .

the hotel is right beside a u station and you can get to alexanderplatz very easily. the room was fine and the bed was very comfortable. in all a good place to stay in berlin.

The breakfast at the hotel was great. The staff was really kind and the hotel is very well located near to a Subway station. I would stay there again.

Exactly what you would expect for a German 3 Star hotel. In a very good location and very reasonable rates. Great place if you are shopping for a few days. Very friendly staff and reasonable sied rooms

This hotel is ideal if you're just looking for somewhere to put your head down at night. Although basic the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety to choose from and the hotel staff are efficient and friendly. The hotel is in a great location for shopping-around the corner from KaDeWe, a 5 minute walk to the zoo and next to it zoo station which gets you to all the historical sights in the east in about 10 minutes. It is also on a quiet street so you are not disturbed during the night, and as we left they were setting up a Christmas market just a 5 minute walk away!

The breakfast was very good and the location was excellent, about 2 minutes to the underground. The room was nice enough although nothing special, comfortable beds.

Very nice, clean, modern hotel in great location - right near Kurferstendam, KaDeWe, U-bahn (subway) and just a few blocks from the zoo and main train station at Zoolischergarten. Upgraded us since we booked on hotels.com. But beware - there is no A/C in this hotel and in the summer it is simply too hot. Their website does not state "no A/C" and we were shocked and disappointed to find no rooms with A/C for the price we were paying. Leaving the windows open all night was not an option for us since cigarette smoke would waft into our room (we're non-smokers). The staff were apologetic and gave us two fans to use in the room as well as ice cubes (a rarity in Europe), but it was still a warm night. Not the way we wanted to spend our last night in Germany. It was obvious we weren't the first guests to complain about no A/C since they had a stash of fans. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we had in Germany. Beer at the bar was 5 Euro - a bit high. If you want a comfortable, clean room near shopping, zoo, train station, etc. and the weather is cooler, this is a great option.

After reading other reviews, I was expecting the breakfast to be pretty good - it wasn't - it was AMAZING! A really huge range of breakfast food, ranging from simple fresh rolls and cheese, cereals, and fruit to smoked salmon & bubbly! They served breakfast from 7am-11am, so perfect if you have an early start or lazy lie in. The room was fine, but please not there is no air-con in the rooms, and we found it very hot at night, and pub across the road very loud and late, so opening window was not an option! Fantastic location for visiting Berlin, very close to bus and train services, including the X9 express bus to Tegal Airport.

Excellent breakfast arrangements and helpful staff. Much improved atmosphere over previous visits eight and ten years ago. Good value and the ease of access to Buses 100 and 200 plus the nearby Wittenberg Platz U bahn makes it an ideal centre for business and pleasure.

The hotel is simple, although very well located and a great breakfast. The service is fair for a 3 stars hotel. I will indicate this hotel to my friends.

We really enjoyed our short stay at Sorat Hotel Ambassador in Berlin in March 2008. The location was close to U-bahn station (access to the rest of the city) with variety of shops and restaurants. Our room had a nice view. We were impressed with the complimentary robes/slippers. The breakfast was superb! Incompariable to any hotels we stayed in Europe so far. Staff was very friendly, spoke good English and was able to provide neccessary information about the city. Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a good choice for the 1st time visitor to Berlin.It is centrally located with bus/subway a couple of minutes away.The breakfast is fresh and offers a wide choice

What a wonderful and convenient location--buses, subway and S bahn trains were but minutes away! Our room was quiet and comfortable, and decent sized-for Europe. The breakfast was unbelievable--they had something to please everyone, served buffet-style from 0630 til 1100 each day! We loved it--and with the weak dollar, a large INCLUDED BREAKFAST is a very welcomed treat. Also free room internet access

Hotel service very good. Excellent breakfast. Room was pretty basic, and the shower drain backed up causing it to flood the bathroom. Not pleasant. Booked twin beds but was given double, albeit with separate duvets/mattresses. One skinny pillow. Room overall was a bit tired, but adequate for a 2 night stay. Booked 2 rooms but we were on separate floors. Not a prob for us, but would not have been too happy if booking for the family. Location was good.

Clean room, comfy bed, free wifi, good breakfast, central location, helpful staff. Not somewhere for a long stay or a weekend break, but ideal for a few nights on business in Berlin.

great location, 5 mins. walk from city train station 5euro for taxi if lazy. nice bar(happy hour 5-7) large room, central heating a bit hot. dodgy shelf above sink, mind your head. Breakfast 6-11am fabulous. salmon, fry-up, cakes, cava(help yourself) make your own waffles if the wife is drunk. Have stayed in Berlin before and this is a good qualty hotel from which all attractions are close by.

I found the Ambassador a great hotel located close to the tube station, friendly helpful staff and a great breakfast. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a great market close by, supermarket just round the corner and some nice little restaraunts. Highly receommended

Although classed as 3*, all was what I would expect of a 4* hotel, at 3* prices. Breakfast was exceptional, and better than some 5* hotels I have stayed in. As my German is poor, English speaking staff were very much appreciated. Ubahn + Sbahn both in easy walking distance.

Udmærket hotel, centralt beliggende ca. 200 m fra Ka-De-We og tæt på Kudamm. Vel udstyrede værelser - et rigtigt godt hotel til prisen. Eneste minus er den høje pris for parkering. 14 Euro pr. dag er lidt pebret !.

Hotellet ligger nära till det mesta. Rummen är enkla men bekväma. Frukost håller hög klass.

Litt slitt hotell. Ingen minibar. Air-condition en støyende luftpumpe i vinduet. God rikholdig frokost. Veldig hyggelig personale. God seng. God størrelse på rommet. Veldig god beliggenhet rett ved KaDeWe og Kudam.

das hotel im ganzen und auch die zimmer sind absoluter durchschnitt. die begrüssung am empfang und das frühstück waren gut bis sehr gut.
