Welbeck Hotel - Νότινγχαμ

Got a really good deal on this hotel and was worried that we'd end up in the boiler room!! However, the hotel was fantastic, room was wonderful and the bed was massive and very comfy. The staff were lovely and I just can't fault it at all. I was so pleased.

Upon arrival, was greeted by a friendly member of staff at reception and was quickly checked in. Old fashioned metal key with large keyring rather than an electronic key, but not a disaster. Upon entering my room I was very surprised - quiet, large and well appointed. Bathroom was a bit mini - but was clean and had everything you cold expect from a 3 star hotel. Room even had a flatscreen tv. Location is also excellent and reception were good to enough to organise me a taxi when requested. Didn't make use of the restaurant facilities, but all in all a bargain.

My wife and I were very surprised and happy to find such a good hotel at a reasonable price in the centre of Nottingham - very convenient for the theatre and shops. We had a very well appointed room on the 5th floor with comfortable beds and a super TV. Food both at breakfast and dinner good. Staff at reception and in the restaurant very helpful. Hope to find a reason to stay at the Welbeck again in the not too distant future!

This hotel is looking tired & worn. The cleanliness of our room was very poor & we were moved to a slightly better room, although tiles in the bathroom were cracked, shortage of flannels on the second day, duvet cover was on inside out & the whole room needed a refit.

Room a bit small. Duvets too heavy for Summer. Corridors full of cigarette smoke. Hen parties rather noisy on Saturday night. Having said that would use the hotel if the price was right in the future. Perhaps breakfast could be included or more reasonably priced.

Booked on-line and good price compared to list price in hotel. had to pay to park overnight in car park next door although hotel did discount the parking token by £5. you need to allow for the cost of this. clean room with v.large double bed, tea/coffee biscuits etc. 2 chairs in room and space to walk around. clean bathroom! easy 5 min walk to shops. had breakfast in town

Solid city three star hotel, room was well equipped, clean enough, bed large, bathroom good, all generally about right for the hotel's category. A little wear and tear around the edges made me score the room part of the stay at 8/10. Rest of hotel. Same. Good quality but nothing thrilling. Very anonymous place, few staff visible. Usual joke prices for services and food, so went out. Location central and safe but not attractive. Solid bet that becomes great value if you can bag a low rate.

I had booked this as a last minute stay as we had a wedding in Nottingham. I wanted somewhere in the centre of town so we could have a choice of places to go for dinner. The hotel was a plesant surprise and best thing a key and not one of those cards. The staff were very welcoming, always had a smile and nothing was too much trouble, from helping to find places to eat and directions. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We had a lovely welcome and efficient check-in process and found the staff friendly throughout our stay. The hotel is nice but could do with some modernisation. The room doors do not lock automatically, so you have to make sure you lock up when you go in or out. The Welbeck asks you not to take the key outside with you but to leave it at reception. Therefore, you have to ask for it when you return, which is a hassle and can lead to delays (although we were not kept waiting). I would be much happier with plastic key cards. They avoid all these problems and improve security. However, the rooms are well equipped, the bed was big and very comfortable and the temperature of the room could be easily adjusted. In addition, both the bedroom and bathroom were of decent sizes and there was plenty of wardrobe/drawer/cupboard space. We felt fully able to relax and we were impressed by the vast array of television channels. They provide a shower mat but this was discoloured and seemed unnecessary as the bath had a non-slip surface at the shower end anyway. I think the bathroom could have been maintained better but the bedroom was good. Talbot Street is not the nicest of streets but it is actually a good location, within easy reach of everything you could want in the city, including the tram link to the railway station. We certainly enjoyed our stay and we would go back, especially as the staff were so nice.

Good: Central location one block behind Crowne Plaza, Secure car park next door, On a side street, Good double glazing and a/c meant a quiet night, Good power shower, Good quality mattress and pillows. Twin room with two single beds meant there was room to move around (Crowne Plaza rooms small by comparison). Bad: Car park discount not given; reception reprogrammed parking ticket but discount not recognised my machine. Hotel and car park then both apparently unable to do anything about it. Hotel said £5 would be discounted from overnight 10-24h fee (£14). Car park said only discount was on fee from 5pm to 9am! Result: paid more than expected for parking, and more than at Crowne Plaza next door (£12.50)

Hotel was without fault, it was brilliant, perfect place for concerts and shops and pubs. Only slight issue would be the parking, it's quite costly at the car park over the road, so be warned, but brill apart from that.

The staff were very friendly, food was excellent, the room well that was very cosy, every thing you needed, i read some of the other reviews people left and thought " are we doing the right thing booking this hotel" but i cant see why people complained about it, its the best hotel i have stayed at in Nottingham and will definately be using it again, its very central to the town and the clubs and pubs, overall excellent rating from me :-)

Tucked away but in the centre of Nottingham, Great value for money and a very good standard, bed huge and comfortable. Car park next to hotel, cost me £12 to park for nearly 24 hours but car was safe. Would use hotel again

For the price I paid, this hotel was great. Perfect location - just minutes away from the city center and all the attractions. I checked in about 3 hours early and they were happy to accommodate me; unfortunately the non smoking room I requested was not available. Still, the hotel was great. My only complaint was that the Wifi didn't work and as a former IT support staff, the "it doesn't work with Mac computers" response from the hotel staff was beyond ridiculous. However, there are a few McDonalds' within 5 minutes so it wasn't that big of a deal (there's free wifi there).

A nice hotel which suits those looking for a short stay in Nottingham. Pleasantly surprised by the comfort & quality of the room. Walking distance to the Canal, Castle, shops and bars. Great valus ofr money, though the breakfast is a little pricey. Would stay there again.

Very impressed with the staff and level of service. Bathroom could possibly have been slightly cleaner (slight stains in the bath and on glasses), but perfectly acceptable. Overall very very impressive for the price and a good location.

Clean well appointed 'posh' hotel with plenty of character, gorgeously large and comfortable beds, friendly staff and a roof top restaurant/bar. Prices of food and drink very reasonable. Only negative is the reduced price parking in nearby car park, although it's at a reduced rate it still works out £10.50 a night. Can work out expensive if stopping more than 1 day/night. However, ideal if travelling by train and you haven't got a car. Really nicely appointed hotel in the centre of Nottingham, would use again ... but leave car at home.

Nice big bed, cheap and very comfortable

very comfortable room with good facilities. Most comfortable hotel bed we've spent a night in, and big too. Convenient parking next to hotel. Location ecellent for concert hall and city centre. Didn't use the restaurant or bar but they looked really nice, and good menu choices.

7 of us stayed for 2 nites and were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness & comfort for what we paid. The double beds are huge & sleep friendly. TV with good selection. Excellent roof top bar & restaurant area with friendly helpful staff throughout, although breakfast is a bit steep causing all of us to eat elswhere. Very close to town centre & tram/buses. Secure discounted parking adjacent . Would definitely use again

Great location for many of the city's shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. The room was large with a super king size bed. The decor was perhaps a little dated - mediterranean feel - but very clean, quiet and would definitely recommend.

Booked 3 rooms for family, and everybody was very happy. Rooms comfortable and clean, but breakfast was slightly chaotic due to a large number of people all arriving at around the same time.

We chose this hotel for a weekend break in Nottingham not only because of the price but because of its location and the fact that it is adjacent to an overnight carpark (£14 for 24 hours). We were very impressed to find that it is around a 5-10 minute walk to the main shopping center and only 5 minutes to some nice restaurants and bars. We found the hotel perfectly located in that it was only a few minutes walk from the center but wasnt on a main road so there were no problems with noise. The staff were really friendly and happy to help. Our room was nicer than some 4* hotel we have visited in the past. It was beautifully furnished and clean, and included a kingsize bed and a flat screen tv. We will definatly be visiting this hotel again when we take another trip to Nottingham.

I book this hotel on a regular basis because the staff are really helpful, the rooms don't have paper walls, and the beds are large and comfortable.

Well located, EuroParks car park literally next door and city centre just down the slope. Room clean and welcoming. Corridoors quiet despite clearly being a popular hotel for weekenders. Only negative was that the room key needs to be in situ for the heating to work - though this shouldn't be a problem once the weather improves!!

We stayed for one night at the Welbeck Hotel while visiting family. The rooms were a good size & the King Size bed was great. We weren't up in time to sample breakfast but overall I would definitely stay here again as it is perfect to access all the city centre has to offer.

We stayed at the Wellbeck for a rock festival held in a nearby club. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the food and drink in the top floor bar was excellent. We will definitely stay there again.

Just 5 mins walk from the city centre, lovely hotel - nice and quiet rooms, massive bed! you can park in nearby roads from 5pm on saturdays through to Sunday night for free (the hotel gives you reduced rate on the NCP but its still expensive). We had a great stay!

This hotel is in the city centre, less than 5mins from Royal Centre & easy walking distance to the main drag & shopping centres. It is excellent value for money, the staff are friendly & helpful & they provded a very good service. The room was of a good size & in excellent condition, a modern built hotel with a nod to the past. Would I go back? Oh yes!

Nice hotel. Well situated for central Nottingham. Convenient and secure parking nearby. Good overall standard, but noisy. Little noise from outside, but you can easily other (inconsiderate!) guests late at night. The rooms and corridors are not well insulated.

I have stayed in a number of hotels in Nottingham and this is certainly one of the better ones, but can also be a bit pricey. Can't comment on breakfast as it was not included.

A very comfortable hotel with a lovely restaurant. We were on a Chritsmas shopping trip and stayed just on the Saturday night. We wanted to eat in the hotel and were not disappointed. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

This is a clean, well run hotel within reasonable distance of the train station and town centre. The staff was kind and the room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was nicely tiled with shower and tub (which many British hotels lack.) The only problem is that despite the neat modern lines of the hotel, it is flanked by a grimy factory. I would stay again though because of the good staff, cleanliness and price.

Por el precio que tiene, no está mal. Las habitaciones son amplias así como el cuarto de baño. Lo peor: las cortinas son demasiado traslucidas y a las 7 de la mañana hay mucha luz en la habitacion que no deja dormir. lo mejor: está en el centro.

Il personale è stato molto gentile e ci ha supportato in ogni necessità. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo. L'hotel è vicino al centro e quindi anche molto comodo. Le camere sono ampie e pulite.

J'ai effectué 2 séjours de 2 nuits dans cet hôtel et à chaque fois mon séjour s'est très bien passé. L'hôtel est situé proche du centre ville et des transports en communs. Le rapport qualité/prix est très bon! Je recommande cet hôtel!
