Very nice and pleasant hotel, the only downside is the price of the alcohol in the bar but overall an excellent hotel, you get value for money with the buffet breakfast

s a sinlge female traveller I found this hotel excellent value for money and excellent service and comfort.

Friendly staff, moved me to lower floor as I have a problem with stairs and worry about fire egress. Lovely clean and well presented room. We were however diappointed with the breakfast. Sausage low meat content and limited choice. Only regular coffee with no hot milk, however obliging staff did get me some when requested.

Booked this hotel for 3 nights Thursday- Sunday. For some reason our keys didnt work for our room on the saturday midday time and when we went to the reception to resolve the problem there was a group of 40 blokes checking in. I asked if we could be seen to as it was a quick query but had to wait 30 minutes as everyone was checked in. Was constantly woken up on the saturday night by stag party making noise and going in and out of rooms. Was finally able to sleep at 5am. Hotel and staff are fine but it is the choice of groups of lads going for boozy weekends in the toon.

2nd time we've been to Jury's and we quite like it. Not too central so you're away from all the noise. Having said that, we had a room at the back of the hotel so we did get some road noise and therefore couldn't leave the window open even though it was a warm night. Staff excellent, room excellent, will go back. Biggest drawback is no parking...had to pay £10 per night at NCP over the road.

On the plus side: overall, the price we paid was good value; the staff were very friendly and helpful; the rooms were kept clean; and the hotel was a 10 minute walk from the main train station and Metro. On the down side: we were on the 7th floor looking out towards the Tyne and there was steady background noise from cars, trains and/or nearby air vents; there was no air conditioning in our rooms which would have made the stay very uncomfortable and noisy if it had been a hot spell; and the bar was expensive (£9 for two G&T's).

Stayed for 4 nights from 19th July 2009. Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Room clean and reasonable size. Food and drink prices compare favourably with local restaurants, full breakfast at £7.50 proved good value. Room overlooked reception and some of the Hen/stag quests can be loud. Suspect Friday and Saturday night stays may prove even louder. A great location 3 minutes from the main rail station and city centre also close by. No parking so expect to pay £10 for overnight stop at multi-storey across the road from the Hotel. A good value 3 star hotel and would definately stop there again. Easy to get to and from the A1 and without having to go through the city centre.

Very handy for BR Station

Hotel is not bad. Good central location. However when away on business you expect the basics e.g. room service which you don't have to collect yourself and an iron available in your room not an 'ironing room' on the 2nd floor

Nice room, nice staff, lots of young people having fun...but NO PARKING...there is a fee lot across the street but an event at a nearby facitily had it full and blocked off...so where do I put my car?

from the time i checked in till the time i had to leave this hotel was very impressive was on the fifth floor so the view over newcastle was excellent,and the hotel is a walk away from all the bars and clubs well recommended

If driving to this hotel beware that the car parking is a public car park a good distance away - over a main road. Not too bad in fair weather in May but could be very scary if alone on a winters night. Parking overnight costs a minimum of £10.00 per night.

hotel was prefect location. close to train station and night life. highly recommended.

I was very satisfied with this hotel as it was very clean, modern, and the room was spacious, which is not always the case in the UK as most hotels can have very small rooms. Would definately be my first choice of hotels there in NewCastle England.

Having stayed at Jurys in London the previous week, I was a little disappointed with the one in Newcastle. The reception was excellent, with quick, efficient service with a smile, which was nice. The room was very basic, but clean. The "nailed to the wall" toiletries were difficult to use while sitting in the bath! The "restaurant was the most soulless place that I have ever been, with absolutely no redeeming features. Suggestion to management - voiles at the windows would mask the multi storey car park! The cold breakfast buffet was pleasant, but the hot one looked to have been there for a while. As we arrived, hundreds of men on stag do's were just leaving, and I would say this would have been a great venue for them, convenient to the station and nothing to spoil, however, for a romantic weekend - may be a plan to look elsewhere. Pity, as I have always enjoyed my stays at Jurys. Time for an upgrade...?

The hotel is well located close to the main railway station. Reception was quick and efficient. The room was well appointed, comfortable and quiet. The staff were extremely cheerful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. For the modest price we paid, I rate the hotel very highly. Just one suggestion - lower the volume of music in the bar!

My wife and I had a great relaxing weekend at the hotel staff were excellent and very help full. They helped us to find places to go and see. Yes we would come back again. Keep up the good work. Newcastle is beautiful.

very impressed with the hotel lovely big room not what we was expecting from just a 3 star. had to get a taxi to resturants and bars but taxis cheap and right outside. car park very close too. nice walk to all the shops cant wait to go back

Hotel very clean and friendly. Me and my best mate stayed we had a double and a pull out bed, however the pull out was awful so we shared the double.

close to city centre and st james park no hotel parking; overnight parking in multi-storey car park nearby for £8

I stayed for a Christmas works night out and found the hotel to be exactly as one would expect. Comfortable and friendly.

This hotel was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We came across very helpful staff on reception who were accomodating with our needs. The only small point i would raise, is the double bed we had in our room, seemed more like a 3/4, but mabye thats just because i am used to sleeping in a king.
