Hotel La Floridiana - Κάπρι

Felt like they were just trying to charge us for every little thing. Staff were rude to us.

I booked an "ocean view" room nearly 4 months prior to my arrival on July 6, 2009 for my 50th birthday. Upon arrival, I was offered a larger "upgraded" room with no actual view, unless you stepped out onto the balcony and looked to your left. The immediate view from the room itself was of an ugly old jacuzzi (extra charge to use) and a lounge chair, with a patio just past that. When I told the manager that this was unacceptable, I was offered a similar, but only very slightly better room. That, again, was unacceptable based on the fact that I had reserved and paid for what was described as an ocean view room. I finally accepted a third room that still offered an ocean view from the balcony and not the room itself. Two American couples were partying together until almost 4:00 a.m.; the hotel is not very soundproof, so we didn't get much sleep. I would also recommend that people who gift their luggage to porters on the doc for transport to the hotel (or vice versa) should be made aware that the charge is 11 euros per bag. Neither the porter nor the hotel told us this fact in advance. When we expressed our dismay to the hotel, they at least agreed to transport our bags to the top of the funicular (usually at 4 euro/bag charge) for free. The hotel staff was wonderful and helpful in every other way, and the location was perfect.

We had a beautiful view from the room balcony and the room itself was lovely. The only real negative about the room was the towels were like cardboard! The front desk staff was very helpful and professional. The hotel is a bit hard to get to due to the steep incline/steps, but that is Capri! Overall, I would recommend this pretty hotel.

Stayed at this hotel in a Superior Sea View room on 3/18/09 for one night as an overnight trip from Rome. The rooms were clean and new; the staff was extremely friendly and helpful; would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again!

The Hotel La Floridiana was situated about a 10 minute walk mostly downhill from the main Piazza on Capri. The hotel is modern and decor is contemporary. Wonderful sea views from our junior suite, but sound proofing is somewhat inadequate and we could hear occupants on either side.

Très bon hôtel au calme un peu à l'écart de la foule. Quelques minutes à pied du funiculaire ou du bus de Capri, un peu plus difficile sur le retour car en pente! Notre chambre sans vue sur la mer était néanmoins très agréable avec une petite terrasse privative. Salle de bain très jolie avec des mosaïques. L'insonorisation n'est pas excellente, et les couloirs un peu bruyants. Un ascenceur est en cours de construction. La salle du petit-déjeuner (buffet) est très agréable, avec une vue plongeante sur la mer. Bref, semble un peu cher au 1er abors mais finalement un bon rapport qualité-prix pour Capri.
