Zanhotel Europa - Μπολόνια

Location is good about 15 min walking to city center but this is not a 4 star hotel, at the most 3. Of course price is 4 star. In “business center” in hotel internet was for 35 cents / min, hmm. Breakfast was good. Staff quite polite

The decor is highly impressive as you enter this hotel, and the standard is maintained throughout. All of the staff were friendly and highly efficient, and were happy to speak in English. Our double bedroom was very comfortable, with a large shower room (no bath). The breakfast room is spacious and attractive, the tables were kept very tidy and the extensive buffet was always well-stocked. Espresso coffee is available on request, although the "standard" coffee from the machine is really OK. Only fifteen minutes from Marconi Airport in a taxi (17 euro), and three minutes walk from the train station (we'd pre-booked trips to Parma and Ravenna with Trenitalia). It takes a good ten minutes walk to get towards the centre, but it's flat all the way. Walk along to the Orto Botanico and down via Zamboni into the centre if you've got a bit more time - lots to see along the way.

Generally an OK place and very convenient to the train station. The front desk is very helpful.

The hotel lobby looks very nice and overall the hotel isn't that bad, but it certainly does not live up to its 4-star rating. The staff was surly at best during check-in and never was very friendly. The rooms were large, but quite run-down and the shower in the bathroom looked terrible and had black growth in the corners, never a good sign for a well kept place. I must also say that despite their claims to the contrary, two small beds pushed together IS NOT a king sized bed which is what my booking was made for. Finally the walls of the room are made of paper and the couple next door, though just speaking in normal voices, could easily be heard in our room and kept us up when we needed to sleep for an early morning flight. Though we don't watch the TV it did have a Sky box so it would have lots of channels, but I am afraid that the 12 inch 1980's TV attached to it probably wouldn't do you much good. Overall I would choose anywhere else to stay in Bologna, especially for the price.

The Zanhotel Europa was a very pleasant experience. The room was large and clean. Beware of the hairdryer though...kind of like a vacuum cleaner! Must be a European thing. The breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious, with many options to choose from. The hotel was a very short walk to the main shopping and dining area and just around the corner from the train station.

We arrived by train and this hotel is a quick 5 minute walk down main streets from the station. Very nice lobby with helpful staff that spoke english well. Large, clean room with a large bathroom. About 10-15 minute walk from the city Center through safe streets and turnabouts.

we arrived and were put in an annex. this would have been ok, but when we asked to see another room, the staff did not help very much with the issue. the problem was that an air conditioner kept the room about 10 degrees warmer than needed and we had no window- only a door that when opened clearly lowered the safety of the room. most concerning was the nonchalant attitude of the staff in general. i would not stay here again. not a four star at all!

Stayed two nights in a quiet room on the back. Excellent buffet breakfast including the service. Clean room and good amenities. Walking distance to the city center.

Top of the line service, great rooms, exceptional decor, good location.

beautiful decor but the walls are paper thin, I sleep with the t.v. on and in the middle of the night, someone awakened me by the door buzzer outside. As a single woman alone, I was terrified. I didn't understand the language well enough to know what the problem was. I called the desk and at the desk, they knew that the neighbors could hear the t.v. Why in the world the desk didn't call me instead of having someone buzzing me at 2 a.m. is beyond me. The next day, I needed to sleep in the afternoon because I had to be up at 3 a.m. for my plane....I was awakened several times to the sex noises of my neigbors and couldn't go back to sleep because I could hear their normal talking voices through the walls. so....obviously my t.v. wasn't that loud after all, it was the lack of sound proofing in the hotel walls.

un buon albergo in una bella città. L'unico problema sono gli ospiti che partono la notte e fanno rumore..ma non è colpa dell' albergo.

FAVOLOSO - nonostante la pioggia, Bologna ci ha convinto a tornare. Albergo comodissimo, non caro per sua categroia. Mille grazie.

Gunstig gelegen t.o.v. station, busstation en centrum. Goed ontbijtbuffet en prima kamer. Alles schoon en net. aardig personeel, vooral bij ontbijt! Een aanrader voor wie graag de mogelijkheid wil hebben iets van de regio te zien. Ravenna, Parma, Rimini en zelfs Venetie zijn per trein goed bereikbaar, als je tenminste rustig de tijd hebt per trein te reizen. Trek erop uit en keer in de avond terug en ga dan lekker eten in de diverse restaurants die de stad rijk is. Je moet wel van typisch italiaans dagelijks leven houden. Wie op zoek is naar entertainment op toeristen niveau, kan beter naar de kust gaan.

Ottima posizione centrale, camere ben curate e rifinite. Ottimo comfort e servizio di alto livello!
