Hotel Alpha - Σορέντο

I have been burned before with half board offers but thought I would take a chance with hotel Alpha, and so glad that I did!! The food was absolutely superb, there was a fabulous choice on the menu every night and the staff were delighted to advise on the dishes. The hotel was fine, room was a good size and was kept clean. My only gripe would be no kettle in the room : (

The hotel allpha is located about 1.5k from Sorrento in San Agnello. The area is lovely very local and with great train and bus transport into Sorrento if you cannot make the walk. I spent a week with my father in the hotel and also a few days with my boyfriend and the hotel and location were perfect for both. The staff were so helpful and not always just pushing the trips they had available but also public transport options and recommendations for local restaurants. I really did have a great holiday here as you have a lovely pool but also a discounted rate to use the beach nearby for 8 euros with lift and sunbed which is pretty good for the Amalfi coast. Highly recommend and hope to go back!

Hotel Alpha was a nice hotel, but I'm not sure it measures up to 4 stars. Pool is great and there's a good choice on offer at breakfast. We didn't have any evening meals at the hotel as only there for 2 nights.

We chose this hotel primarily for its location, within walking distance of Sant' Agnello train station and close enough to Sorrento centre to walk , about half an hour and on the local bus routes. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It has spacious public areas - reception, lounge bar, dining room, terraces for dining alfresco, well tended gardens all around the hotel and a very nice swimming pool surrounded by citrus trees. Lots of sun beds. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient and their English was excellent. The cold breakfast buffet had a great variety of choice. We ate dinner in the hotel on one ot the evenings of our stay and the food was good. The menu gave a good choice and was changed every day. The hotel has special entertainment dinners several time a week. We did not attend these due to other commitments during our stay. We would unhestatingly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a holiday on the Sorrento Peninsular.

Good well priced hotel easy to get to Sorrento proper but away from the bustle of that area. Only slight grouch is that they have a hotel wifi site which is not available for guests so you have to pay 3E half hour. We thought the breakfast was very good

This is a lovely hotel but a little inconveniently situated as it is well over a mile from Sorrento and the bus service was quite erratic. One bus journey the bell wasn't working and the driver refused to stop the bus! It is also a few hundred metres from the railway station which had an infrequent service to Sorrento. We walked most of the time which was quite dangerous as there are no pavements for part of the way. Recycling and dustbins are emptied about 5am very noisily. Sorrento is very busy and many hotels are on the busy main road so we were glad to be in the next village. We were half board and the waiting staff in the hotel restaurant were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, helpful and were ruled completely by the head waiter who seemed determined that every guest should receive exactly what they wanted. The food was excellent, the service perfect, friendly and enthusiastic. The swimming pool was excellent, slightly heated which can be unusual and beautifully clean and surrounded by lemon, orange and grapefruit trees so very pretty. There was also entertainment, including a gala dinner which was very special - they went to a great deal of trouble. We had a wonderful stay but the panoramic view, which cost extra, was a little disappointing

it was not near the center of Sorrento...you could not walk there..you had to take a bus or train....part of the street was very dark to walk in...did not feel safe.

the hotel was a little far from the center of Sorrento. The street did not have street lights...it was dark to walk into town.

We found this hotel to be an ideal location for all locations around Sorrento. It is very close to the train station and also has good bus links. It is also easy walking distance from a lot of places.The hotel was immaculate and the staff are most welcoming, friendly and professional. Good food with a different menu every night. I would most definitely recommend Hotel Alpha

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Alpha in July of 2008. Our first impression on walking up the steps was of a clean and well run hotel. We however did not realise just how right we were. The pool was what I would class as a proper pool, in other words it was possible to use it for swimming. The interior of the hotel and the rooms were spotless and the staff were second to none. I honestly do not think I have met more friendly and helpful staff on any of my travels. Nothing was too much bother. The buffet breakfast has something for everyone and not only plenty of it but more importantly of a very high standard. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the railway station and the bus stops only metres from the front entrance. Try this hotel, I am sure you will be impressed.

I travelled with my wife and two teenagers and another family- excellent staff.The pool is lovely. I have spent alot more for alot less in other hotels.

The Hotel Alpha is an excellent location for touring this area. The staff were friendly and helpful and the standards are the hotel were high with good value for money. It is only a few minutes by train/bus to bustling Sorrento and I would happily recommend it to anyone. Second time I have booked with Hotels.com and was delighted.

Dejligt hotel i rolige omgivelser. Lidt langy ind til byen. Gode bus/togforbindelser

Hotellet ganske udmærket, men lidt lagt til vandet,meget støj fra gaden. Vi havde halvpension. Maden og menukortet rigtig godt. Serveringen for stressende og dårlig rådgivning om menuen.

Redan vid entrén till hotellets trädgård blir man glad och nöjd. Personalen är korrekt och tjänstvillig. Rummen är bra och har det man behöver. Restaurangen har god mat. Frukosten är riklig. Middagen varierad och smaklig. Hovmästare och servitörer vinnlägger sig om alla gästers välbefinnande.

Ett trevligt hotell som ligger helt okej till om du har vägarna förbi Sorrento med omnejd. Försök dock att få ett rum som inte vätter ut mot vägen, då kan man bli störd av den livliga italienska trafiiken
