Grand Hotel San Pietro Relais & Châteaux - Ταορμίνα

Beautifully located and very efficient service although hideously expensive for drinks and such like to the point of being a rip off. I would extend this criticism to the whole of Taormina. I have no objection to paying over the odds for a meal if it is a memorable event, alas, the food in Taormina is on the whole average and yet they charge for what would be the equivalent of fine dining in the UK. The 'king size' beds in this hotel are in fact 2 singles pushed together so not particulalrly comfortable.

This gorgeous hotel provided us with every comfort and luxury- incredible views of Taromina, a beautiful and comfortable room, wonderful breakfast, a friendly and helpful staff and even free internet capability- It is a place we hope to return to in the future to enjoy again!

Stunning views and an excellent location make this an ideal retreat for a stay in Taormina. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Whilst the hotel runs an efficient shuttle bus into town the walk is only 15 minutes and conveniently takes you past a couple of lovely little bars (our favourite was al Grappolo d?Uva). The bus to the beach is more of a necessity but again the service is excellent. My only real complaint was 6 Euros for a litre bottle of water seemed unnecessarily expensive and the pointed note in the room that ?any non hotel products would be removed from the mini bar and disposed of? slightly petty and again, rather unnecessary. This certainly did not distract from our stay and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Taormina. The hotel is better suited to couples or families with older children.

Staff friendly - room clean - not too far from Taormina centre. Reception, rooms and facilities not what I would expect from a hotel which is promoted as 5*! First impression on arrival at Reception prepared us.. again - just not grand - small reception desk.. chipped furnishing. When booking the hotel I paid for an upgrade to a 'Superior Room' so was very unhappy to be shown to quite a small room, with very small, just about functional, bathroom. Good view, though! The hotel manager showed us another room, slightly larger, but still not acceptable. At this point we had decided to leave and find another hotel. After all, this was a special stay, we had paid a lot of money for just 4 days and one books a 5* hotel to mitigate the risk of being disappointed! Unfortunately we were not given the chance to transfer to another hotel (by Hotels.com), but were offered a Junior suite by the hotel. This was a better room, but still... 5*???? I don't think so. Also, pool area was officially closed due to time of year April??) - no indoor facility. Had it been open, even, was nothing special at all. 'Fitness Centre' small room with a few pieces of equipment. Breakfast - OK.

Although externally not very beautiful,this hotel is beautifully situated in a quiet spot, just below Taormina. There is an excellent shuttle service to town. Our room- "Superior" sea-facing with balcony- was spacious and bright. Breakfast was a bit repetitive and limited, but good quality

Excellent hotel, fantastic setting and the most perfect place to get engaged! Try to reserve the Rotanda Sul Mare if you are looking for a special, romantic dinner - a table 50 steps down, on a cliff top, overlooking Mt Etna and the Ionian Sea. An idyllic setting!

L'hotel è straordinario, sia per quanto riguarda la posizione sia per quanto riguarda i servizi offerti, in particolare un fantastico servizio navetta per una meravigliosa spiaggia privata. eccellenti le camere, molto confortevoli e pulite e di vero pregio gli arredi delle aree comuni dell'hotel! un vero sogno! un vero cinque stelle lusso!!! unico aspetto negativo la colazione che può decisamente essere migliorata!!

Uneingeschränkt großartig

Mon épouse et moi avons passé 3 nuits au San Pietro, avec notre fils de 5 mois, du mercredi soir au samedi après-midi, fin-novembre. L'hotel est extrèmement agréable. La saison ne permet pas de profiter réellement de l'extérieur (terrasse, piscine), mais la fréquentation basse fait que le personnel est aux petits soins. Nous avons été accueuillis par nos noms, le lit de notre bébé était déjà prêt dans la chambre, nous avons été upgradés à une chambre deluxe, avec un splendide balcon et une vue sur la mer incroyable. (orientation sud-est, parfait pour le lever de soleil) La chambre est très luxueuse, évidemment, avec le seul bémol sur la télé: presque uniquement des postes italiens, et TV5 et CNN. Absolument rien à dire sur la propreté et l'état de la chambre. Le restaurant est vraiment bon. Je ne suis pas sur qu'il ait une étoile michelin, mais il la mérite sans doute. La quantité dans l'assiette est un peu courte, typique pour ce genre de restaurant, mais la qualité est au rendez-vous. Le prix du restaurant est correct pour le niveau. Entrées entre 20 et 30€, plats entre 30 et 40€. Déjà des vins locaux excellents abordables. Nous avons aussi profité de la petite installation de massages. Masseuse dans une pièce spécialement adaptée, mais pas de Spa à proprement parler.

Hotel de tres haut standing a la hauteur de ses 5* mais pas pour tout... L'hotel offre un service et une qualite d'accueil irreprochable, ceci etant ses prix exorbitants en restauration et le manque de recherche et finesse dans les plats font que le restaurant est vraiment a eviter car pas du tout a la hauteur d'un 5*

Malgré la petitesse de la chambre, la vue est très belle et l'hôtel à proximité du centre de Taormine (10 min à pied) . Excellent accueil, très bon service, garage gratuit en cette saison.
