Miramar - Βαρκελώνη

The hotel is outside the center of the city next to the Olympic Village and other interesting attractions. If you like to walk to can walk from the Columbus monument to the hotel, otherwise, there is the #50 bus line that stops in front of the hotel. We were traveling with our 11 year old grandson and found the hotel to be an oasis after a long day in the city. It had grounds for our grandson to walk and a park a couple of steps down. It also has an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool very well maintained. We loved this hotel. Virginia

The hotel itself is gorgeous. The pool is very nice, the spa and fitness areas were great. The room was extremely comfortable, had a great bathroom and a patio. Overlooking the city. Location: I was expecting it to be on the top of the hill, as I had read this in other reviews. And it's true that the hotel is a 15 min walk from La Rambla, which is the most famous area. However, La Rambla is far from the best area to hang out in. The downtown area is much nicer and has much better pricing than La Rambla. And the nightlife is all right on the beach (Port Olympic), which is near the downtown area. There is a lift that goes from the hotel to the beach, which is great for during the day (12.50 Euros round trip), however doesnt work well for dinners and nightlife. Cabs werent too much going back and forth, but I'd rather - esp. for a vacation - be at least within walking distance from the activity. The service: Awful. Granted we dont speak the language, but the staff spoke just fine. And I know enough Spanish to be able to order food. Yet they still continued to mess up our orders constantly (we found ourselves eating at the hotel quite a bit, since going to get food was so inconvenient and would require a very long walk or a cab ride). When we received something that wasnt ordered, I asked it to be taken off the bill, and not only did the woman at the front desk roll her eyes at me, but then she didnt take it off even though she said she had. I asked again the next day when we checked out and it was still on our bill, and although the guy at the desk made it clear that the question annoyed him, he took it off anyways. There was also a huge mishap with the restaurant itself. There's a restaurant behind the hotel called Miramar, and is overlooking the city. We thought that was the hotel restaurant and asked for what time it was open. They told us the time, and we went over there shortly after the time they told us. It was closed for the night though. I thought this hotel was great, however, it sits on top of a mountain. During the summer it was nice to sit at the pool which overlooked the city, but otherwise it was a little too far out of the way from the main attractions. It was very clean, modern, and chic. The staff was very helpful and polite. Restaraunt was wonderful and you get soda and water FREE from the mini bar daily. The only other drawback was the lack of online access. Two other high end hotels that I stayed at in Spain offered free internet access in their lobbies and it was disappointing that this was not available. Overall though - a lovely experience.

Room should have a box of Kleenex not a small packet of 2-3 sheets -- definitely not enough. I told the front desk about this issue and they said they had never heard of a box being put in a bathroom?????? Also I would like to have been informed by hotel.com that the hotel was not near any restaurants, Gaudi museum etc and therefor was a large expenditure of money for cabs ( who often took a loooong way back to the hotel!)

The only reasons not to stay here would be if you want a hotel in teh very centre, or if you simply wanted something cheaper. The hotel is on Montjuic (within 15 mins walk of the centre, or a short cab). Bathroom was great with a big open bathtub in the middle of the bathroom area, and separate double shower. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the spa a nice addition (use of jacuzzis, steam, sauna is free).

Had a great time during our stay here. Everything about the hotel was first class: location, pool, food.

AC Miramar in Barcelona was outstanding when it came to service , views and comfort. However, the hotel is next to a shooting range so starting around 8:30ish in the morning sounds of incessant gun shots made the vacation slightly less wonderful than it otherwise would have been. Gu7ndshots could be head all day and ceased at sunset. Other than that the ehotel was fantastic.

Very Modern excellent staff, very helpful, good English translation, well equipped

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly, helpful and fluent in English. The pool area is gorgeous and the rooms are very spacious for a European hotel. The only downside was the cost of food and drink onsite. A cocktail ran about 12 Euro (16 dollars) and the breakfast buffet was 24 Euro (30+ dollars). The cost of the room was very fair considering the size and service.

Ich bin mit meiner jungen Familie - 2 Erwachsene und 1 Kind (2 Jahre alt) - fuer 2 Naechte im Miramar gewesen. Ich kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen. Freundliches Personal und das Badezimmer war einfach super. Negativ ist nur eines Anzumerken: Beim ein- oder ausfahren (aus dem kostenlosen) Parkhaus setzt der Unterbodenschutz unweigerlich auf die Rampe auf, wenn der Wagen normal hoch ist. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Hotellet er utrolig fint. Nydelig design, fantastisk beliggenhet, bra service og alle fasiliteter. Fikk rom med sjøutsikt over havnen og Barcelona og kunne sitte der å spise frokost. Gikk flotte turer i nærområdet. Ligger ca. 15 minutters gåavstand til La Rambla, men anbefaler å ta taxi på kveldstid. Eneste minus er at det noen ganger tok litt tid å få taxi ned til sentrum.

Miramar kan på det varmeste anbefales - der er virkelig tale om enestående value for money!

L'hôtel est sublime, très bien équipé une vue extraordinaire, mais le service est très mauvais: réceptionniste désagréable, pas de bagagiste les deux premier jours et le troisième il ne prêtait même pas attention à nous trop occuper à discuter avec les taxis, le premier soir impossible de se restaurer à l'hôtel le restaurant et le bar étant fermé et le room service plus d'une heure d'attente, le deuxième jour plus d'eau le matin et durée des réparations une heure minimum, pas de personnel pour le spa, la piscine et la salle de sport, pas de peignoir fournis etc...... Non vraiment cet hôtel ne mérite pas autant d'étoiles avec un service aussi mauvais!!!... il faut quand même reconnaitre qu'il est très beau et très bien équipé, mais tous ces détails peuvent vite vous énervé et vous gâcher le séjour.

hotel tres sympa sur les hauteurs de monjuich face au port . Transport bus ou marche 10 mn jusque les ramblas. Attention le chemin est pentu notamment pour les sorties nocturnes

Hotellvistelsen var mycket lyckad! Rymmen otroligt rymliga och fina. Frukosten fantastisk. Vy över staden från hotellet.

Ein exzellentes Hotel; ruhige Zimmer ohne Geräusche vom Nachbarn; Sauberkeit, Zimmerausstattung etc. alles wie erwartet - nur in der Dampfsauna hat's modrig gerochen

hotel propre , personnel aimable à tous les niveaux. j'ai adoré la cuisine . Pas pratique la poignée pour ouvrir et fermer la douchette surtout après être savonné.

Ganz hervorragendes Hotel in exponierter Lage.

Wir verbrachten 2 Nächten im AC Miramar. Es ist ein absolut durchgestyltes Designerhotel mit etwas kühler Atmosphäre. Vom Foto der Hotelfassade haben wir eigentlich ein alt-ehrwürdiges Luxushotel mit Flair erwartet. Das Hotel liegt auf dem Montjuic oberhalb von Barcelona und ist nur mit Taxis oder einem ordentlichen Fußmarsch zu erreichen. Es gibt auch keinerlei Restaurants oder Geschäfte in der Nähe. Die Zimmer, die über hotels.com gebucht werden, haben keinen Meerblick, sind aber sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück im Hotel empfanden wir mit 25,00 Euro pro Person zu teuer.
