Majestic Hotel - Ντουμπάι

We stayed for 3 nights and are very satisfied with the standard and service of this hotel

I enjoyed the hospitality of the staff specially those at the business center, they really made me and my daughter feel very comfortable, we will be back.

Great hotel, nice staff, etc. Very cool rock-n-roll bar next door if you like live music. But the neighborhood wasn't the best. To be clear, there is not really a "bad area" of Dubai, at least not dangerous like Detroit and NY can be. But this area was full off street hookers -- and the fans they attract. Personally, I found it fascinating and did not feel threatened, but I'm from Chicago.

The hotel staff are very pleasant and welcoming. Where the swimming pool is situated seems to get a lot of wind. The music room attached to the hotel serves good meals at reasonable prices and the entertainment makes it good value for money. all the staff are very friendly there too.10 minutes from the airport (if the driver decides to take the correct route)

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, everyone spoke English and made it a point to help you. The location was "ok", most places you will have to take a taxi but thats not a problem, all taxi drivers spoke English an knew were we wanted to go. If you are looking for a hotel at a reasonable rate and still offer nice amenities, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel had a very good central location in Bur Dubai. Neighborhood was not that great but safe an walking distance to various shops you might need. There is bar attached to the hotel with live music, cold beer and pool tables. Good old fashion rock-n-roll bar, no techno. There were lots of "ladies of the night" hanging around but they don't bother you --- unless of course you ask them to.

Location in the middle of Dubai's red light area is not exactly the best. Taxis can be difficult to obtain. Walking out from the hotel is not a pleasant experience with current roadworks and leading into the poorer largely Indian areas of Bur Dubai. Reception staff mixed, some good, some poor and indifferent. Bell staff generally helpful. Obviously converted from a block of flats the lifts are inadequate for use as a hotel and this can lead to queuing at busy times. Basic rooftop leisure facilities do not impress but are adequate. The main problem here was room comfort relating to noisy evacuation fans which kept one of the guests awake all night. On complaining an engineer was sent which clearly was not going to solve the problem. A move to a better room was proposed (a suite) but even this had noise which sounded like a helicopter taking off throughout the night. Overall adequate but some significant problems which would require a major refit to resolve and some additional staff training neeed for consistency. English skills of some staff lacking.

Hotel OK with the exception of the lifts which were a nightmare as only 2 for the 24 floors and so often a long wait at peak times Position of Hotel I was there on business and had to go to the Trade Centre daily for an exhibtion - To get to-from the exhibtion centre was a nightmare as there were literaly fights for cabs a hotel curtesy bus was available but it was hit and miss as to whether you'd be at the front of the queue and able to get on. If there on business for an exhibtion would advise you stay in a hotel nearer to the venue

I think this hotel is a good value. Its not the cheapest place in town nor by any means the most expensive but you get what you pay for and more with this place. Front Desk people were very helpful. I arrived on a 4 am flight and was sick when I arrived at the hotel. They were very helpful and managed an early check in for me. Good stuff. Food is good. Breakfast should not be missed and worth every Dirham you will pay for it. Room was very nice, clean and quiet.

This hotel was great! The staff was nice and welcoming. They went above and beyond to welcome me! They also provide a shuttle service to the beach and the malls, you cant get any better in Dubai for the low price.

Everytime you turn around or ask for service they slap you with a high cost. For example Internet connection was 99 Dirhams ($27.5) plus 20% surcharge. This is ridiculous as their cost is minor but it is a means to rip off the customer.

Check in was very efficient, arrived at 10am but was still checking in and given a room did not have to wait for 2pm time, room was fantastic hotel member came to explain about the city, hotel ammenities, emergency exit etc and checked we were okay. Business suite very helpful and you can buy the tours in the hotel and get picked up at the door. Hotel very safe secure nothing went missing in the 6v days there and room cleaned thouroughly every day. Pool is heated and beauty salon staff very very friendly and professional.

Great value for the $, We were on the 18th floor, occupied a suite, balconey over looking Dubia's marina and sky line. The location was within walking distance to the Big Bus pickup. Will recommend to everyone going to Dubai.

Travelling on business to Dubai regularly as a female has it's challenges. I booked the Majestic Hotel (classified 4*) mainly because of the facilities advertised (fitness centre/pool etc) and the fact that it was rated 4*. The changing rooms in fitness/pool area did not have a hair dryer so I had to go back up to my room to dry my hair, after waiting for a lift. There are 24floors in the hotel and only 2 lifts so the wait in the mornings in particular can be excessive. The swimming pool is great, but there are no facilities in and around the pool so I had to order room service for food and drink. The hotel is not situated in a great spot for getting a taxi in the morning. Great location for tourists. Bell captain staff were excellent.

Nice enough hotel, very good value, clean, safe and good facilities and food. Service fine but nothing special. I recommend the hotel except - it is really difficult to get a taxi from this hotel. I suppose that taxis only go to this area if they are dropping off so you never see a line of available taxis like you to a say Jumeirah or some of the other big hotels. This was a real problem when trying to get to meetings on time. Concierge always says "yes, taxi coming" but they almost never do. Would I stay there again? For the hotel, yes, if I needed taxis to get to meetings, no.

Great hotel! Booked in last minute as we were not happy with the first hotel we had arranged and were very pleased. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was very comfortable. Would go back like a shot if i ever find myself in Dubai again!

Excellent concierge and front desk service. Location isn't great, but this is Dubai, and you must travel by car anywhere you go. Got a city tour from an agency located right in the hotel, it was well worth the money.

Had a ceiling leak in the bathroom that I requested to be fixed a few times. Requested additional hangers a few times for the closet but never arrived. The staff, however, were very hospitable. This would be a good hotel for travellers or business people in the area..... I don't think I would stay there again as I'm used to being in Dubai itself and Bur Dubai (Old Dubai) is not really my cup of tea. Very accessible with Taxi's and really only a few minutes from anywhere.

Majestic sure exceeded my expectations. Great service, location. Very clean and staff was very cordial, considering that some don't speak english that well. The mattress was a little firm and room has no alarm clock. Overall I would certainly recommend it.

The hotel was lovely and most importantly clean. The room was very relaxing and comfortable.

tiles came off the wall in the bathroom whilst away from the room. the response by the team on duty was very slow. only after much complaint was a room upgrade given

Although the hotel was very clean and comfortable (really comfy bed!) I don't think we'll be going back, as it is approx 25 minutes away in a taxi to the centre, where all the major malls, hotels, beaches are. So unless you have something to do in this part of town - nr the old town, i would advise to head elsewhere. Also, there are only two lifts which service a 14 floor hotel, so we found that most of our trip was spent in the lift, stopping at every floor on the way to ground floor....or in a taxi! Also - breakfast area was a shambles. Too small for the amount of people staying in the hotel, and rarely any staff around to clear tables! Quality of breakfast was average.

The hotel was great, the service was amazing. Even though it may have been a 4 stat hotel, it was better than any 5 stat back in the US. The staff work very.. very.. hard to please their guest. The velet parking staff are great, friendly help out when ever you need somthing. The location of the hotel isnt in the best part of Dubai, alot of traffic, more then the rest of Dubai. Thankfully the hotel offers a shuttle to the malls and beach. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent, hot and cold food. The fruits and veggies are very fresh and flavorful.

Why I was in UAE? I went to the UAE with three school friends and our wives to celebrate our (boys only) 60th birthdays. I would happily invent reasons to cross the creek just for the 1AED abra ride; the textile and spice souks are unmissable and the Jumeira mosque was fascinating. We enjoyed the museums, bought jewelery in the gold souk and spices from the spice souk (well worth bringing back - good quality, cheap & light). THE MAJESTIC The location is a good one as the creek is only about 15min walk away (~10AED in a taxi) and then nearby are the souks on one side of the creek or the other - all the ladies bought pashminas and next to the abra station Alah Dinns shoes (sequinned arabian slippers) The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly and generally speak good english (except for more complex questions during the night). The food is generally good and reasonably priced. Our only slight problem was with the Greek restaurant in the hotel where the service was rather slow and the sliding doors onto the balcony wouldn't close. On the night of my birthday a very nice birthday cake appeared in my room. There are only 2 lifts and the hotel has ~28 floors so they can get busy occasionally - and they will complain if you try to overfill them - embarrassing if you're weight conscious! I would go back to Dubai, maybe as a stopover and if so I'd look first at the Majestic to stay. I'll try to avoid the rain next time though!

I have only 2 gripes about this hotel: The swimming pool wasn't heated; & the hotel filed to provide the hotel transfer I had requested. That apart, this is a great hotel.

I stay at this hotel in November 2007, Hotel was clean, stylish and the service generally was very good. The only gripe I had was around breakfast, there was not enough tables for guest, so depending on the time you went down, you may be sharing a table with other hotel guests. Hotel is in a good location to travel around Dubai (Bur Dubai), however Dubai traffic is a nightmare!!! I would definetly stay in this hotel again.

Good location for visiting Dubai & Diera. Cost of a taxi to the Emirates Towers approx £5. Good all round service in the bars & restaurants although the buffet in the chequers bar was a bit poor it was good value for money in all you could eat and drink up to 11pm for approx £11. The pool area was shaded for part of the day so having to move to get the sun became the norm each day. Staff extremely friendly & helpful.

I am very impressed with hotels.com and the customer service they provided me. I made a same day reservation with a hotel online from the US for my husband who was arriving in Dubai, U.A.E. I received a call a few hours later from a hotels.com representative who was confirming that I had indeed made that purchase. He was calling to ensure that someone else had not authorized our credit card for his room. He was succinct, thanked me kindly, and was very professional & courteous. I look forward to doing business with hotels.com and am so grateful for them going the extra mile for customers!

The hotel has a good central location,the improvements needed are a hand rail for the steps outside and inside because the steps are made of marble.The standard room is not bad but if you enjoy late night TV viewing your choices are poor,best go for the suite and enjoy a larger sitting and sleeping area.Overall our stay was enjoyable and the city of Dubai lives up to its glamour and things to see and do.

Average hotel with what you would expect in this price range. Service was however much better than expected.

rimelig og bra hotell med hyggelig betjening. Kanskje hakket for langt unna alle severdigheter som jumeirah stranden m.m og må derfor belage seg på å ta en del taxi, selv om dette er billig i Dubai så er kanskje et hotell nærmere disse stedene å foretrekke ved min neste reise.

Finns absolut inget att klaga på!

Riktigt fint och trevligt hotell med hyfsat avstånd ifrån Dubai International. Väldigt trevlig personal och fina faciliteter och god mat/frukost. Lätt att ta en taxi utanför hotellet.

Rien à dire personnel accueillant navette tous les jours je repartirait la bas pour mon prochain séjour à dubai. Tout a proximité bus, restaurant, supermarché............juste j'ai eu une chambre avec vu sur un cimetiere

Bra rum, buss till beachen och en ritig bra frukostbuff'e. Ett minus är att det är dålig med reasturanfg utanför hotellet. Baran "Barrels" har bra sport på tv men katastrofalt dålig måt

Ble veldig positivt overrasket. Vil nok ikke se på dette som ett familiehotell og heller ikke for studenter. Vi fann det under ett tilbud, ellers er det passelig dyrt.

It was a very priceworthy hotel - room service was not top class, but on the other hand very cheap and besides from that no complaints on the hotel. We stayed thee first part of the vaccation week in this hotel and then moved out to a beach resort in Jumerai Beach - a great way to get the most out of the vaccation.

Mycket trevligt hotell och passar säkert lika bra för en semesterresa, hotellet arrangerade buss till mässområdet kostnadsfritt, flera restauranger att välja på inom hotellområdet. Poolen är ganska liten, men välskött.

A clean hotel with no surprises, neither god, nor bad surprises. You get what you ordered and payed for. Specially helpful staff at business center, where you can get advices for and book attractions, tours, restaurants, bars etc. Good full breakfast and excellent salads in the ground floor bar.

Hotel mejestic var og er bare det rene luksus, et helt igennem perfekt hotel, der gjorde vores ferie helt uforglemmelig, i dette enestående paradis af storslåethed. Personalet på hotellet er bare helt fantasisk, og overmådelig behjælpelig, helt sikkert et hotel vi vil benytte igen, næste gang vi er i Dubai...

Hotellet ligger ikke langt fra Dubai Creek og flere kvartaler med tradisjonell bazar. Likevel er det langt fra det kjente Burj al Arab hotellet og palmen. Vi hadde bestilt et twin rom, men dette hadde de ikke, og ble derfor oppgradert til en suite. Det ble installert ekstraseng. Dessverre luktet rommet gamle sigaretter. I 1. etg er en bar med live musikk. Dessverre er det fortsatt lov å røyke på slike steder i Dubai. Noe som jeg setter lite pris på. Kl. 04.00 ringte telefonen på rommet med beskjed om at det var min bestilte vekking! I shock, fortalte jeg at jeg ikke hadde bestilt vekking og forsøkt deretter å falle i søvn igjen. Kun fem minutter senere ringte det igjen med samme beskjed. Dette var grusomt for oss, men sikkert enda verre for vedkommende som ikke ble vekket kl. 04.00 og som kanskje ikke rakk flyet sitt. Når jeg nevnte dette ved utsjekkingtidspunktet ble det kun flirret av og fleipet bort av personalet. Uten at det ble tilbudt noen form for unnskyldning. Ved frokostbordet tok det ti minutter før vi ble tilbudt kaffe. Da var frokosten så å si fortært ferdig og det var kun kaffe igjen til en av oss. Den andre ble nødt til å vente ytterligere flere minutter før ny kaffekanne ble tilbudt. Utvalget til frokost var tilstrekkelig, men skal man servere wienerbrød bør disse være dagens utgave. Taxier fra hotellet varierer fra ca 25 dirham til 75 dirham for samme tur avhengig av hvilken type drosje som hotellet klarer å skaffe for deg. Alt i alt var oppholdet skuffende.

Be aware that there is no COLD water. Rooms big and in good and clean standard. Breakfast only ok for 1 or 2 days - otherwise it is boring. Migth be some waiting times for the elevator as other have commented on but it was not too bad. All in all a good hotel at the price.
