Hotel Piazza Vecchia - Μπέργκαμο

There is no better located hotel for visiting Cita Alta in Bergamo (the old town). This hotel is literally in the heart of the medieval city and everything is within walking distance. Good enoteca, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops are virtually next door. The staff are really helpful and the hotel does not lack in amenities - we had internet, flat screen TV, nearby parking. Our room was very well kitted out and extremely comfortable. The decor is tasteful with art on the walls. I don't give it a 5 for a few reasons - quite pricey, especially given that breakfast is not included, and the fact that not all the rooms have a bath (though the shower was excellent). Also no safe or mini-bar but those aren't major issues.A fantastic little hotel - highly recommended!

Just back from a short stay in Bergamo then Como, wanted a central hotel in the old town within walking distance of a nice restaurant, and somewhere with a bit of charm. We werent disappointed... coudnt get more central. Lovely big room with rustic beams on the ceilings and partial view over to the mountains. Only point was breakfast not included but as we only required a coffee and croissant after quite a large evening meal the previous evening, ten euros each to eat in the hotel was rather extravegant so we ate at one of the many quaint coffee shops round the corner. Will return soon.

We stayed at the Hotel Piazza Vecchia on Friday 30th January 2009 on a two day trip to Milan. We arrived at the airport - got a bus from the airport to the funicular railway which took us up to the old town. The hotel was less than 5 mins walk. The hotel was extremely clean and the room beautiful. Cannot really comment on the service because we were there for just one evening but the receiptionists were extremly polite on check in and check out - well that's all you need really isnt it and they pointed us in the direction of some local bars. We didnt bother about breakfast because we were off to Milan for the day on Saturday but would definitely stay again and recommend to friend.

Had a very pleasant stay here. Several reports in reviews of the staff being grumpy but found them to be nothing but pleasant, friendly and polite myself. Room spotless and located in a beautiful part of the old town

freindly reception, comfortable, but we had 2 rooms of which one was larger and better appointed than the other. Plenty of good restraunts within a few minutes walk.

Hotellet ligger i centrum af den gamle bydel med man ge seværdigheder og gode spisesteder. Med bjergbanen er det en let sag at komme til den lavere liggende del af Bergamo. Derfor er hotellet et rigtig godt valg.

Ett jätte mysigt hotell i hjärtat av Bergamo Alta! Ett trevligt rum med ett jätte fräscht badrum. Nära till allt,mysiga restauranger och fina butiker! Super mysig liten stad med en fin gammal del och en nyare med lite mer puls.

The old town in Bergamo is fantastisch, het hotel voldeed helemaal aan mijn verwachtingen, uitstekende kamer, prima bed, fantastische douche, geweldige Italiaanse sfeer. Ontbijt was wat in tegenstelling tot vele beoordelingen prima. De service was uitstekend. Zeker om terug te komen.

God seng. Fin utsikt fra veranda i bakgården. Behagelig stilt område i gamle byen. Kjempe opplevelse med å ta funiculour opp til hotellet. Manglet badekar, men badet var stilig.

Hotellet smälter väl in med övriga byggnader i gamla stan. Det är en fröjd att gå omkring bland gränderna i Bergamos gamla stad. Här upplever man det genuina samtidigt som allt är befriat från smaklös kommersialism. Det kryllar med utmärkta små kvarterskrogar och ett bra utbud av trevliga affärer som inte marknadsför sig med plastisk neonkultur. Väl inne i hotellet möts man av ett modernt renoverat hotell där kvalitet är ledstiernan. Rymliga komfortabla rum med all den utrustning man behöver. Allt utan att genomsyras av onödig lyx. I den lilla receptionen blir man väl bemött på ett familiärt sätt. Frukosten var bra utan att vara överdådig.

Hotellet Piazza Vecchia får plus i betyget för läge och standard. Något minus för viss hotellpersonal som inte var speciellt välkomnande eller serviceinriktad. I stort dock ett bra boende.

For dyrt for et middelmådig hotell.
