Albergo Artorius - Ρώμη

I stayed in this hotel for the first 3 nights of my honeymoon. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and COOL! I had read that not all hotels had air conditioning and in the 90+ degree weather in August, I was more than happy. The bathroom was spacious and toiletries were provided. The water did run hot and cold randomly, but, that didn't bother me too much. It's in walking distance from everything - even the Vatican was only a half hour walk at a brisk pace.

The hotel location and staff were excellent. The breakfast room was so quaint and cozy. My only complaint is that the bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable for me. The bed was way too firm for my liking so I had trouble sleeping. But I would recommend this sweet little bed and breakfast to anyone visiting Rome.

The hotel was clean, modern, secure and perfectly located. We were able to walk to every site that we wanted to take in. The Vatican was the longest walk (ablout 2 miles), but everything else was much closer (colleseum, Parthenon, etc.).

As we were arriving quite late, I wanted to phone the hotel. The confirmation from hotels.com did not have the hotel telephone number. That was a a problem. As in almost all the hotels we stayed in in both Puglia and Rome, the lighting for bedside reading is abysmal. The little outdoor/indoor space for breakfast is a treat and the selecting very outstanding.

Pricey, but good location, nice and clean. The breakfast service was outstanding. The staff was exceptionally pleasant, and very helpful. They made excellent restaurant recommendations and reservations on our behalf, and flawlessly assisted with transportation arrangements. Our only gripe was the failure of the staff to address a faulty (unstable and loose) shower head in our room brought to their attention after our first night (we stayed three). Also, the shower water temperature changed inexplicably and by itself from freezing cold to scalding hot. Overall, we would stay there again and recommend it to our family and friends.

Hotel Artorius was wonderful and I will return there the next time I visit Rome (return visit guaranteed via the Trevi Fountain, of course!). The staff was excellent - they were very friendly (sometimes difficult to find in Europe) and exceptionally helpful. You can even buy Metro tickets from the hotel. Probably other stuff too, but we never asked. Also, the location couldn't have been more perfect! Be prepared to walk a lot in Rome, but know that this hotel is centrally located. The Colosseum was practically around the corner and down the street one way, and the Trevi Fountain area the other way. The breakfast buffet was also a treat. You can tell this hotel is extremely concerned about treating guests right and making an excellent impression. (they even put little designs on our cappuccinos each morning!) Also, the bed was comfortable and the room was LARGE compared to other rooms we stayed in (probably normal size for most American hotels). There was even a well-stocked minibar with reasonable prices. This is the type of hotel I would easily recommend to my parents, who are spoiled travelers. A real treat!!

This hotel has very clean and nice rooms and to top it off it feels extremely safe. Wonderful area and very close to all of the major tourist sites. Walking distance to everything in Rome. Will stay there again when I travel back to Rome.
