Lovely hotel, clean and tidy, friendly staff, convenient location to York centre and very reasonably priced...couldn't have asked for anything more!

Great location, and brilliant breakfast. Been going for many years, when present owners' parents were running the business. At present, happy balance between efficiency and friendliness. AQnd goode info about what to see in York and where to eat.

This hotel is situated in a very good location for York's amenities. A mere 3 minute walk to York Minster and straight into the heart of York's shopping area.

Room was great, good size and very clean. Hotel is approx 5 mins walk from the city centre, so a good location. A bit unhappy about the cleaner leaving my room unlocked, with my luggage and laptop inside one day during my stay. Advertised Wi-fi service only worked about 50% of the time. Staff were unfriendly at the reception desk, and the breakfast area, where they seemed disinterested feeding me! They didn't seem to care less about giving me a receipt for my stay. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the hotel rather than a guest - so for that reason, I wouldn't recommend staying there.

It was a very nice hotel, incredibly close to the centre of York. The decor was nice, the breakfast plentiful, and whilst we didn't stay for dinner, it smelt wonderful! The staff were very helpful, although a TAD moody at times - but we're all human. They never failed to help with anything we needed. Rooms and bathroom were very spacious huge t.v.! Plenty of freebie toiletries. Everything you could want, especially for the price, for a quick trip to explore York. Loved it!

This was our first break away without our baby so we wanted a comfortable and romantic stay. Unfortunately our room was a box room and it was impossible for me (only a small person) to get around the foot of the bed to the other side. I found that the only way to get across the bed was to climb over it! Sound proofing was also a problem. There were guests over the hall who kept us awake until the early hours of each morning with just a normal conversation although we could hear almost every word. The people in the B&B next door could also be heard having a good time well into Saturday evening. Apart from the lack of comfort and sleep, the service was very good and the staff were very attentive during mealtimes. The food was delicious if not a bit pricey. The hotel was too much money for what we got and we sadly won't be staying there again but if comfort isn't an issue (or you are a size zero) then we would recommend it. Hotel service was

The rooms are clean and spacious, with a very large comfortable bed. Fantastic high ceilings with original features. Staff are friendly, breakfast is good and all within a short walk of York. Great value for money too.

The Hedley House was a fantastic accomodation! The rooms were large and very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful city of York. If I return to York there is no question, I will book this hotel again.

For a start, the Hedley house hotel is within a 5 minute walk of the beautiful city of York, great for visiting travellers. The hotel staff were all very friendly and accomodating to our needs. The room was a large en-suite room which was very clean (always a good start) The bathroom was a great size as well with all of the trimmings, (not to mention an actual bath!) The bed was incredbibly comfortable, so much so that I didnt want to get up for breakfast the next morning. Thankfully I did andwas treated to a tasty full english (grilled not fried) One final great thing about this hotel is that they will let you keep your car in the car park after you have checked out if you want to spend some extra exploring the sights of the city or the shops. All in all a great guest house, would definetly go back in the future

Tostjerners hotell, som stemmer bra. Ligger ti minutters gange fra York Minster og relativt stille i en sidegate. Trange trapper, ikke heis, knirkende gulv. Men greit nok. Ca kr 1000.-/natt for et dobbeltrom er i overkant for dette hotellet, som har en enkel standard.
